Had to download app to get it to work and range off ext is not far in a brick building. Had to change position a few times but now works well

It really was my first rodeo with a piece of equipment like this. Since covid, I now work from home hybrid...half at home, half in the office. As charming as my little stone wall built 1800s cottage is, they're a black hole for Internet speeds and connection which has been suffering recently. I used a download speed checker and this has doubled my previous reading. The instructions are simple, app easy to use and navigate and I love the little reassuring reader in the app which tells me the perfect place for the perfect range for my plug in device using its readings. It's the first one I saw with an outlet access so I'm not looking a plug socket and for £19.99 it was great value for money. Fit nicely in the corner behind a unit too with no mess or unsightly wires.

I bought two of these. Just remember that once you have set up the first one, unplug it before you try to set up others. otherwise you will have problems. Setup itself was reasonably painless, once I had worked that out. I have far better WIFI coverage now.

Great product, especially when the facility to share a socket is given.

This is only a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi unit and does not provide better than 15Mb/s pass-through speeds when extending over Wi-Fi. This might be a bottleneck if you are running many devices through this unit. If you have newer devices, you would be better off purchasing a 5GHz compatible unit. I also had to manually configure the unit by the hardwired connection and despite typing in the correct IP address many times, it too some time for the unit's web interface to respond. It does the job, but you would be better off buying unit that is more forward compatible.

I recently purchased the TP-Link TL-WA860RE N300 Universal Range Extender with Extra Power Outlet, and unfortunately, my experience with this product has been quite disappointing.Firstly, the setup process was more complicated than expected, with confusing instructions that made it challenging to get the extender up and running. It took me a significant amount of time to troubleshoot and configure the device, which was frustrating.In terms of performance, I found that the range extender did not provide a significant boost to my Wi-Fi signal strength. Even when placed in optimal locations, the extension of my network coverage was minimal, leading to continued dead zones in my home where the signal remained weak or non-existent.The extra power outlet feature, while convenient in theory, did not function reliably. I encountered issues with the power outlet not working intermittently, which was a major downside considering one of the selling points of this product.Despite reaching out to Amazon for a replacement, the second unit they sent did not perform any better. This consistent lack of improvement only added to my disappointment with the TP-Link TL-WA860RE N300 Universal Range Extender.Overall, I would not recommend this product to those seeking a reliable and effective solution for extending their Wi-Fi coverage. The setup difficulties, lackluster performance, and unreliable power outlet make this range extender fall short of expectations, even after attempting a replacement.

This unassuming little device has given our wi-fi a new lease of life, and enabled me to work out in the garden throughout the summer. So easy to set up, such a low footprint, and in my tests the speed of the broadband connection is as good through the extender as it is through the main wi-fi, even when I'm sat next to the wi-fi and the extender is 2 rooms away. Plus you don't even lose the plug socket you plug it into, or the one next to it, and it's one of the cheapest devices I found when searching for something to do this job. Just a couple of words of caution. If you (or someone else in your house!) do plug something into the plug socket it exposes, be mindful that when you unplug that device you can sometimes pull the wifi extender out of the socket, and then you lose your improved wifi range (and it might take a while to realise why). Also, once you've set it all up, you do need to set your devices to connect to the new access point (with the suffix _EXT), this isn't mentioned in the instructions as far as I remember, and it caught me out because I assumed that wasn't necessary. Those caveats aside, this has seen me videoconferencing in the garden and using my phone in rooms that previously had no wifi all through the summer - for this price, I can't fault it!

Worked fine for 2.4 wifi. Not for 5g wifi.
