I originally bought an alternative cat flap based on my boys sizes and weights, but having fitted it, it soon became obvious that it was far too small. I don't think my boys are excessively large, they are Siamese cross and weigh 6-6.5kg. I genuinely did not believe they would need a large cat flap - but I was wrong. This cat flap is excellent quality and fits beautifully in our wooden kitchen door. Absolutely no draught gets through, but it is still easy enough for the boys to push. The locking mechanism could perhaps be simpler, but once you suss out how it works, it's no big deal. It's a very solid, quality item. My boys are 3 years old and had never used a cat flap before, with the exception of the previous purchase that was too small. Having struggled with that one, I wondered if it would put them off trying with this one, but the initial hesitance lasted no more than a few hours before they realised they could get through this one so much easier. I admit, the original cat flap was cheaper, but you can't put a price on your cats happiness, and it's not as if this was overpriced, it is worth every penny. Definitely recommended.

Buying a flap with the fur/seal on the door is paramount, functioning perfectly, good solid construction, really easy to install.

A good quality and big enough for a large size cat

Whilst I love this cat flap for its look and price point and the fact it's big enough for my large ragdoll, I've taken a star off for the locking mechanism as I found my cats kept getting locked in or out as they were accidentally moving the locks when they were going through it. In the end I removed the locks as I don't really need them anyway and I was too worried about them getting locked out. My cats are not very intelligent 🤣 however it only took 2 days to become fully fledged cat flap users, now there's no stopping them! I can't didn't fit this myself, I paid a builder to do it and it only took him about 30mins so it was pretty easy , but I don't have the knowledge how or the tools so I wouldn't have attempted it myself. It went easily into a composite door with moulded panels, he just used a really high quality silicone.

Got this to fit to internal egg pot type door and fits perfectly, used multi tool to cut hole and looks like the door came with it fitted

Had this for about 6 months now and still works great! Our one also says 'Closer Pets' not 'Cat Mate' on the actual product which we like as we use it for dogs. We put this on the door to the garden Summer House so our Yorkshire Terrier and Mini Dachshund can go in and out freely. Works as intended. Took a few days of encouragement for the yorkie but now both use it multiple times a day every day. It seems to be just the right height for both to use without straining up/down and both have been known to sprint out if they hear something of interest outside. So, I would say it's hardy enough for our uses. Only complaint really is that the draft excluding part of the flap did freeze up when it was wet and frosty outside and I had to give it a hard push to break the ice and clean. For me, this is not so much an issue as our dogs are not outside at night but I can imagine for outdoor cats this might be an issue. So, if you are prone to cold climates and want to rely on this flap to let your cat inside during the night I would suggest keeping up with keeping it as dry and clean as possible before bed to give it the best chance of being able to swing throughout the night. It also comes with a template made of card so you know how big of a hole to cut which was also very handy. It's tinted on the outside so you can't see in but you can see out which our dogs like so they can stalk the birds outside without getting cold in the winter haha. For needs similar to mine, I would reccomend.

Was easy to install for the person who done it. Looks good. Great size for my chunky puss, BUT it gets stuck in the left corner. It's taken a while for the cat (Bagheera) to get used to eat and now he's put off due to it getting jammed. He'll now sit by it and meow, so I come along and open it for him. Defeats the object of having it. Can't take it out and return it as I'll end up with a hole in the door! Will still ask for a replacement though.

In het oude huis had ik dit kattenluik ook, mijn kat is groot en gaat hier gemakkelijk doorheen, de andere bleef in mijn oude woning en bij verhuizing heb ik deze opnieuw aangeschaft. Mijn kater Sam houdt niet van de klik van een luikje met een chip scanner en deze is gewoon handmatig te bedienen met en in verschillende standen .

Die Klappe war recht einfach und schnell einzubauen, die Schablone ist wirklich hilfreich. Idealerweise ist man zu Zweit, dann klappt es besser. Stabil ist die Klappe auch und die Scharniere (rot und grün) werden mit der ZEit auch leichtgängiger werden..oder ein Tropfen Öl hingeben. Eigentlich haben wir nicht lange überlegt, diese "Katzen-"Klappe für unseren Hund zu kaufen, weil KEINE einzige Hundeklappe wirklich luftdicht ist. Diese Katzen-Klappe hat um die Klappe einen Bürstenrand, der wirklich die Luft abhält. Manchmal bleibt die Tür nach dem Hereingehen eine kurze Zeit offen stehen, weil ein Luftzug die Tür nach innen drückt. Damit können wir leben. Für unsere beiden "normal" gewichtigen (3,8 + 5,5 kg) und "normal" großen Katzen ist das Türchen etwas schwer zu öffnen, weil die Klappe etwas schwerer und der Magnet etwas stärker ist als bei der "echten" Katzenklappe, die daneben eingebaut ist...dann wird halt die genommen ;O) Unsere Judy (unsere Hündin) findet es jetzt komisch, plötzlich die Erlaubnis zu haben, durch die Katzenklappe, jetzt: Hundeklappe, zu gehen, weil sie vorher es verboten bekommen hatte, durch die "echte" Katzenklappe zu gehen, in Weiser Voraussicht, dass sie irgendwann stecken bleibt...was dann auch geschehen ist. Nun wollten wir im Winter, nicht mehr die persönlichen Türöffner sein und wir haben uns zu der Klappe entschlossen. Judy geht unter Anweisung und Hilfe auch durch, findet es aber im Moment noch doof, weil die persönlichen Türöffner ja daneben stehen ;O) aber das wird schon...für uns wird es in Zukunft aber eine erhebliche Erleichterung sein, weil unser Wirbelwind gerne draußen, aber auch gerne drinnen ist. Zusatz 1 Jahr nach Kauf: Die Katzen-/Hundeklappe ist super. Unsere Hündin geniesst ihre Freigangmöglichkeiten und unser kleines Katzenmädchen geht mittlerweile auch durch die angenehm große Katzenklappe ins Freie und kommt durch die kleinere Nebenklappe zurück ins Haus. Wie schon vorher beschrieben, bleibt manchmal die Klappe etwas offen stehen, aber es zieht nicht wirklich, zumindest empfinden wir es nicht so. Die Scharniere zum Zumachen verdrecken mit der Zeit und gehen dann schwergängig, aber mit einer Zahnbürste sind diese schnell wieder leicht verstellbar. Ein kleines Manko muss ich aber noch benennen, was aber zu keinem Punkteabzug kommt: Sollten wir die Klappe mal zu machen, schafft es der Hund trotzdem die Klappe aufzumachen (ohne das irgendetwas kaputt geht). Nun ja, da merkt man einfach doch, dass der Hund mehr Kraft als eine Katze hat (die Katze schafft es nicht). Fakt ist: die Klappe ist stabil und wird demnächst noch einmal für eine andere Tür nachgekauft.

Excelente acceso para mis gatos, a precio razonable. Funciona perfectamente y los imanes que retienen la puerta funcionan correctamente. Eso sí, por ahora la tengo permanente mente abierta hasta que se acostumbren. Lo de empujar la puerta para pasar al otro lado aun no lo ven claro.
