Really impressed by this. When I first opened the packet I thought it was a bit on the small and fragile side. I was even more concerned when the instructions with the new Shimano chain I'd bought recommended using a specific tool to split and rejoin the chain. However the Trixie did the job perfectly. Tremendous value. Same product in Halfords (different box) nearly three times the price.

This is not fit for purpose. the pin does not line up and is bent. The black caps fall off and the little bar keeps falling out. The whole thing feels very loosely fitting.I feel I have just wasted my money.I could not recommend this product, to others, based on my experience.

Cheap as chips, but did what Its supposed to.Be warned it is made from cheap materials.But if you are careful and place the chain properly it pops links out like a knife through cardboard.

Poor tool. In fact wrong tool. The middle axle is too thick to work with 7/8/9 spd chains. If you apply more torque can break the chain.This is my last time I bought any cheap tool. Maybe you get what you pay for. I have bought a cycling repair kit from Bike hut it cost £60 but will save me trouble fighting with cheap tools.Guys I have wasted hundreds of pounds and days and days searching for cheap stuff. But believe me, it does not work. This tool or may be for that matter any cheap tool does not work.

Worked pretty well about a dozen to two dozen times. Then a particularly stiff link caused the threading on the pin to shear off, meaning now it jumps the thread on any job, making it useless.It's not trash, it did well while it lasted. It's not even just a one-bike-fix disposable job, it made a pretty easy job of breaking links; the sliding bar gives good leverage and a good angle all 360 degrees of a turn. But if you're looking for a workhorse you can use day-to-day and not replace for years then this isn't it.

Brilliant item and a good price. Some reviewers said it was cheap and nasty but you have to work carefully in light engineering you know !!Also if you use those rivets with the snap off bits it will make the chain connection much quicker. Practice on an old chain will help to train your hands to find the limits of this little machine which works perfectly if coaxed and not abused . Who broke the drive pin ? I know -some heavy handed wassock on here who doesn't mind the world knowing !! If I'd broken the drive pin I would never have let on to the world . I'd just have bought another one and been more careful . Knowing the limitations of your equipment and materials is everything especialy with BIKES !!I just can't believe the people who keep breaking stuff - they should stick with steel framed bikes in fact if they can find a case-hardened steel frame get that !! Don't bother looking as most bikes are Magnalium or the cheaper Halfords specials are mild steel . I still like the mild steel frameswith the modern styling as they are more robust than the expensive Magnalium Road bikes which you can't even clamp in a bike stand !! In fact you are warned not to especially the carbon- steel -super- pricey -starve -your- family- to -afford ones.

I had some trepidation purchasing this item due to some of the bad reviews, I even had a change of heart after purchasing and tried to cancel the order, it was too late and Amazon sent it anyway. It arrived and I needed a bike chain fixed, do I send it back and order another chain tool or use the badly reviewed tool? I ended up using it and found it worked very well! I took my time with it, making sure the chain was secure in the tool and made sure the needle/pin part of tool was centred on the new chain pin (I had to shorten the new chain)...and out it came. And replacing the pin to close the chain was just as easy. I have no regrets at purchasing or recommending this tool nor recommending the seller.

Poor quality. Will not work on high quality bmx chains or half link chains.

Très bon et pratique appareil pour les chaines de vélo. m'a permis de retirer des maillons et de refermer la chaîne avec facilité
