Great Sound & Comfort – Perfect for TV Use
These Philips SHP2500/10 Hi-Fi Headphones are fantastic for TV watching and home audio. The sound quality is clear and well-balanced, with deep bass and crisp highs. The long cable is a huge plus, allowing plenty of movement without feeling restricted. The headphones are lightweight and comfortable, even for extended use. The adjustable headband and cushioned ear cups provide a good fit without pressure.Highly recommended for anyone looking for affordable, high-quality wired headphones for TV or music

Good gaming headphones
I use these for gaming every day, for long periods too. They are comfortable, the sound is more than good enough for gaming. They do have a bit of sound leakage but not too bad, the cord wasn't long enough for my purposes (plasma screen on wall 10 ft away) so I got an extension lead which gives me ridiculous range. The bottom line is that there are a lot better headphones than these but they are silly money and if you want to use them regularly and take them on and off over and over again then the expensive ones are judt going to break your heart when they inevitably get broken (usually the cables), I have a lot of cats, they like to chew things. These are cheap and great for the money, so far they are lasting better than headphones 4x as much.

Philips quality - at a bargain price! 👍
I think these are excellent TV headphones. They provide super sound quality, and I like that they have a generous 6 metres of cable on them - saving you the inconvenience and expense of buying an additional cable. The cups are large enough to cover your ears, and so help to to make the most of the audio reaching your ears, whilst blocking out any unwanted peripheral sounds. I wasn't particularly bothered about having an inline volume control, but the cable is fitted with one, and I have no complaints about its function - it works absolutely fine. The 3.5mm audio jack on the end of the cable will fit into most TV, Laptop, radio, mobile phone, or iPod sockets, but a 3.5mm to 6.5mm adaptor is included in the package should you need it.I actually got these Philips headphones to replace a pair of far more expensive Sennheiser ones, whose pads were shot after many years of usage - unfortunately, spares were no longer available. I daily use headphones connected up to my TV - mainly so as not to disturb my wife, who tends to go to bed early. The other reason though is that the sound quality is far superior to that which comes out of the TV's inbuilt speakers. This means that on action movies etc you get a truly immersive experience - if you turn the lights off, it's almost as good as being in the cinema! It goes without saying that these headphones are a godsend when it comes to watching music performances. Its also worth mentioning that those who have hearing difficulties, or those that sometimes find the dialogue on TV dramas/movies muffled, will benefit from the sharper, clearer sound quality that they'll hear when wearing these. Really folks, if you want to invest in a set of decent headphones that you primarily wish to use for TV viewing, then you can't go wrong with buying yourself a pair of these Philips ones - I'm more than pleased with mine. Many thanks for checking out my review, I hope you found it of use.

New or Not
This make and model headphones are the usually the best that I have found for TV use. Found in the past whatever price I pay they usually last me a little over two years these were boxed up in a new box sealed, same as other items bought from amazon, it's a used item. Headphones just wrapped in bubble wrap not a moulded inner box the volume is not all that good will buy from elsewhere in future have had enough of being ripped off.

Great value, good sound, comfortable
These were purchased to enable me to listen to music and tv on a laptop. I wasn't expecting hi fi sound quality but they are surprisingly good. Excellent dynamic range, a good stereophonic stage, and comfortable to wear for hours. I wanted wired headphones to avoid the hassle of constant charging and Bluetooth dropout. The very lengthy cable is ideal. Such good value, thoroughly recommended for the purpose that I bought them for.

Weird and not remotely wonderful.
These did look a bit odd in the photo - the cups look much larger than normal, and they are. The whole build is on the heavy and large side. I've never seen cups that size before - four inches in diameter!.The headband is really stiff and uncomfortable and bites into the top of your head and the whole set clamps so tightly to your head that you'd soon feel very uncomfortable with them on. Even the lead is fatter and heavier than usual making the whole set extremely unwieldy. Since these are advertised as 'tv headphones' I'd expected them to be much lighter weight considering the length of time you might be wearing them. As soon as I'd taken them out of the box I realised that I wouldn't be able to use them.I plugged them into my set anyhow, just to see the sound quality, and could only get any sound at all in one ear. I checked the box - yep, they are supposed to be stereo. I fiddled with the in-line volume control but only got very little volume out of them. I plugged them into my brand new three-hundred-quid music system. This time I got a stereo sound but again almost no volume at all. This is the second pair of dud phones I've bought this month. The others were Sennheiser PX-95 which I've also reviewed on Amazon. The search continues...

Good sound... not too much bass, but adequate. .
Fairly basic traditional headphones, clear sound, comfortable and extra long lead to reach my TV (5M), handy in-line volume control. This means I can watch TV late in bed without disturbing the household.

Good for watching TV
My grandmother was getting to the state where she was finding it hard to hear the TV and read subtitles. These headphones fit perfectly over the head and allowed her to listen clearly to the TV.The cable is really long on these so you can sit a fair distance away in comfort. It also has a volume control wheel at the headphone end. These cover the ears so reduce external noise but are not noise cancelling.Just good old fashioned over ear headphones.Good quality like you would expect from Philips. I would buy these again!
