HIKVISION - DS-2CD2143G0-I (2.8mm) - IR Fixed Dome Network Camera 4 MP

Excellent camera, very robust build quality. Having used Foscam cameras for some time I can honestly say that these are much better quality and feel professional - the software on the camera is easy to use and offers features that you would expect for CCTV applications (something Foscam cameras lack). Easy to install with some nice touches such as an adhesive drill template which makes the install so much easier if you are at the top of a ladder! Picture quality is decent for the price and the night vision gives a clear view. Some of the negative reviews left here relate to the software, however in my opinion these cameras (and any other IP camera) are best suited to a professional software package. I use these cameras with a Synology NAS which has dedicated compatible software for Hikvision devices - combined, this offers a faultless and reliable 24/7 recording solution. Highly recommended!

Great picture quality and build. Had trouble connecting it through the Hik-Connect setup. The QR code came up as a EZVIZ camera (btw EZVIZ is HiKvision’s easy setup cameras) I had to assign an IP address and do port forwarding to view the camera with my WiFi network and when I’m away from home. You need to be ok with home network to set this camera up. The POE worked well too

Robust construction and good quality picture, but woefully let down by the software. After several frustrating hours, I have to report that I couldn't recommend the device for the following main reasons: If, like me, you have a BT Home Hub, this does not allow configuration of the Hikvision DDNS, No IP works ok, although the free version of No IP requires monthly reactivation. Video plug-ins don't work under Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers, IE works and I understand so does Firefox, but you only find out the hard way (after staring at a blank screen for some time)... the Email client does not appear to support gmail with the supplied firmware version, if you do a web-search on this, there is an indication that firmware upgrade will resolve although finding the right version of firmware on the vendors website is not easy and there is an inference that upgrade is not reversible - I don't fancy bricking a brand new device by uploading the wrong firmware. Perhaps it's just me or perhaps the combination of device / router / firmware is just bad luck as these cameras normally get good reviews, but there goes several hours of my life I'll never get back.

Brilliant device. Easily configured and the picture quality is fantastic. Only negative thing is when it switches to night vision there is a visible reflection of the IR lights from the inside of the dome. Easily remedied by cutting and inserting a small piece of card to act as a light shield around the lens. Not enough of a problem for me not to give it 5 stars.

Nice camera but the latest version comes with faulty firmware that stops the motion detection working and causes load of false triggers as the picture goes dark then light.. Hikvision support is poor so don't buy unless you are prepared to hunt about for the right firmware and burn lots of time.. once setup it works beautifully

Initial impressions are good. The camera arrived well packaged with mounting template, screws, software on a mini-disc and a decent little manual in (passable) English. Testing involved plugging in a cable to my network and then logging onto the camera web server at its default IP address via Chrome (it IE) to change the default password. After this, full access was available to all the camera settings. There is a full range of user configurable settings and the menu layout is refined and effective. Finally, the camera was connected to Milestone Xprotect Essential which quickly identified the camera and installed it, merely requiring the camera user name and password. The image is sharp, bright and clear. This is how an IP camera should behave. The device is well built and appears robust and durable. I have not used the supplied software so cannot comment. Update February 2018 The camera unilaterally and without provocation decided to lose its password and there is no way to reset it without contacting Hik tech support who may or may not decide to respond. Currently left with an expensive paperweight. It's barking mad that the owner can't factory reset it without the manufacturers involvement.

This camera works great with my Hikvision DVR (which supports one IP camera). Of course there is a minor amount of configuring involved, such as the colour and hardware setup. One issue i found was when i connected it to a poor network cable (such as CAT5 instead of CAT5E,) i was getting a terrible connection to my network and therefore my DVR which kept connecting and disconnecting. After upgrading the cable, it worked perfectly every time. The image quality is a lot better than the analogue cameras regardless of the resolution. I can now see faces and licence plates as they pass the street. Lets me record at 22FPS too! Over all, I'm really pleased with this camera

Had this camera installed for a few days now. It was purchased to relace a bracket type Hikvision camera (which has given excellent service for a couple of years) The only reason for the changeover was due to it being vandalised so I thought that a dome type would be the answer. Firstly, the daytime picture quality is very good but whilst the night time picture is extremely soft and murky with a foggy halo around the whole picture periphery. I believe that this is the Internal i.r. lighting reflecting off the inside of the glass dome. As yet I cannot find a setting to turn off the i.r. lights, so far only able to stop the camera from going into night mode which gives a very grainy picture in the dark. In my experience it is the night time performance which is the most important factor in having home security cameras, so unless I can find a way of turning the i.r lights off or at least dimming them, then I am not too impressed so far.

Prodotto fantastico! Qualità elevatissima e facilità di utilizzo tramite app. La Rilevazione di movimento con notifica sul cellulare funziona benissimo. L'infrarosso è molto luminoso e sembra quasi giorno. Attenzione solo all'alimentazione POE perché richiede injector a 48v in standard, non vanno bene quelli comuni tipo alimentazione access point

j'ai cherché durant de longs mois une camera capable : - de fonctionner en PoE (c'est bête d'imaginer un instant que les cameras cessent de fonctionner lorsque l'electricité est coupée : donc PoE + onduleur). - d'une bonne qualité d'image - d'un prix raisonnnable.. et, sur ce point, ça reste un réel investissement, car ces cameras ne sont pas données ! MAIS : j'ai longtemps cherché dans les catalogues de marques plus habituelles pour moi (D-link, linksys, trendnet...) et la facture s'elevait a 400euros !!!! Mon constat : aprés une semaine d'usage, celle-ci est trés bonne, voire parfaite (j'attends de l'avoir possédée plus longtemps avant de me prononcer sur sa perfection ou non) : l'image est excellente, les fonctions plethoriques, le prix imbattable, la qualité perçue trés bonne (metal). J'ai vu un commentaire disant que les notifications n'arrivent pas par email.... je vais verifier ça ; si cela se confirme, il est vrai que c'est un reel defaut... mais j'ai du mal a le croire, ca me semble tellement gros. J'essaierai de poster pour confirmer/infirmer au cours des jours prochains. Edit du 5 janvier 2017 : il y avait effectivement un probleme avec les notifications. CE probleme est réglé par les dernieres mises à jour (Baseline Firmware_IPC_R6 series_En_V5.4.4 161125)... Ma caméra fonctionne parfaitement , et les options de détections sont pléthoriques (mouvement, intrusion dans zone définie, franchissement de ligne).

Surement une bonne camera. Mais pas du tout adapté pour une installation rapide et facile (partie logiciel). Impossible d'installer sans un PC, sur mac ca ne fonctionne pas. Idem sous ios ... Leur logiciel est vraiment a revoir.

Come ho scritto nel titolo ha un'ottimo dettaglio ed una grande risoluzione, in modalità diurna è strepitosa, la deformazione ottica da grandangolo non inficia il dettaglio, di notte l'illuminazione IR in dotazione è limitata a 5-8 metri, consiglio un illuminatore esterno.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit der Qualität und vor allem mit den vielen Funktionen der Kamera. Dies kenne ich nur von der professionellen Videoüberwachung. Da leider NPAPI nicht mehr unterstützt wird, konnte ich die Einrichtung nicht im Browser (auf deutscher Sprache) durchführen. Mir persönlich gefällt die Software von Hikvision zum einrichten besser. Ist jedoch nur englischsprachig. Die Kamera kann mit Netzteil oder POE betrieben werden. Beides ist nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten. Die Lieferung kam mit etwas Verspätung, da diese anscheinend beim Zoll in UK hängen blieb. Bei Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Verkäufer, bekam ich zeitnah eine Antwort und mir wurde ein Kleinbetrag erstattet.
