I recently bought a 90-degree micro-USB adapter recently from that famous auction site (sorry, Amazon, it was cheaper there!) to allow me to set a bluetooth speaker flat(ish) against a wall, but it wasn't until it dropped through my letterbox that I noticed that it did in fact have a female Mini-B connector on one side of it and a male Micro-USB adapter on the other and, despite having more micro-USB cables than I could shake a gnarly stick at, would you care to take a guess at how many Mini-B USB cables did I had? Yep, you guessed it - NONE. Not even a short one. Fiddlesticks, indeed! As is par for the course, I turned to Amazon to see if I could get a standard USB-A to Mini-B cable that was of a decent length (two metres or thereabouts) and found this little one. There's not much to say about it, to be honest, other than it's a decent quality cable that does the job. And, er, it's black.

The connections hold up and do not cause problems. I think it is an item at a good price and of acceptable quality.

Good value

The cable itself works fine. Plug and play. It's thin and flexible. Can't comment yet on durability. The Amazon entry is poor though: "... 50cm, 1m, 1.8m, 3m, 5m Lengths (1.8m)", with only that final bracket giving the actual length. Easy to mistake? Similar on the ziplock bag it comes in. The Prime delivery was super fast, but the cable in its own bag was enclosed in an entirely plastic bubblepack. On the outside is printed a link to an Amazon site for recycling information, but its not clear on that page what type of pack this matches to. So i have to spend more time trying to figure out recycling. And now writing a review to point this out. Why not just a cardboard envelope? The cable itself is good value. All the rest: not so much.

Bought to update a Garmin Sat Nav. In case you have a multi purpose power lead - a cable with interchangeable connectors for different devices - you'll know (or at least come to the realisation) that they only supply power, and not data. This was my plight, and had to get something suitable - fast - and this literally delivered. Data transmission perfect, updated and charged one's Sat Nav. I haven't yet tried it in the vehicle as I still have the original moulded USB power supply lead, but in a pinch, I'm sure it would work. Some cables don't, or haven't in the past, as the lead can act as an antenna - so don't hold me to it!
