If you run with just the basic starter pack (6 squares) any image or GIF is so pixelated to the point of being barely recognisable. You’ll need 12+ squares to see pictures with any sort or clarity. Basic patterns and colours are ok on smaller sets….but you’ll be forking out a decent wad of cash if you want a better quality image like the 16 squares shown in the video. Super easy to assemble, can upload your own GIFs & pictures, has a on/off timer function and mounts on a wall pretty easily. Pretty good quality…but you’re definitely paying for it. There’s a little bit of deceptive marketing by Twinkly as they only sell expansions in sets of three….so if you want a square picture, as opposed to a rectangle, you’ll find yourself with 1 or two “surplus” squares. Maximum amount of squares you can run off one powered square is 15 (not inc the powered square which makes 16 in total).

Loved the idea of adding on to an existing Twinkly and making the fun bigger…

I got these extensions after getting the original square set. After being on for 5 minutes, the white squares appeared, and one went dark. It's a hardware issue as told by the website help center. I need a replacement.
