Great watch
I’ve had this watch for two and a half years and it’s held up remarkably. I work in the outdoors and wanted a reliable watch that would keep accurate time and wouldn’t scratch easily. This watch keeps time so well I only need to set it when I’m heading to a different time zone and for daylight savings. As for scratching, it took two years of me wearing this watch to get just a single scratch. The size of this watch is a bit small but I prefer smaller watches. My only issues with the watch are that the glow in the dark feature is essentially useless - you have to expose it to light in order for it to work and when it’s dark out, there’s no light to expose it to so I’d have to whip out my phone and shine my phones flashlight on it in order to get it to glow in the dark and that would only last like ten minutes before I needed to whip the phone back out. The only other issue I had were the straps. The two straps it comes with are bad quality just not aesthetically pleasing to me so I had to go and buy a new strap that I liked. The rubber straps I’ve used a few times but only when I’m swimming - they tend to rub horribly on the hair on my wrist and so I wouldn’t wear the rubber straps unless I was taking it into water.Apart from the two minor issues - I absolutely adore this watch and wear it everyday. I’m not a watch guy so I only have the one watch and if you only need one watch to get the job done, this watch has done the trick for me.

Great, reliable watch
I’m a bit of a horological snob and the only reason to get this was to have an inexpensive but reliable watch that I wouldn’t have to recharge while on a holiday in potentially sketchy areas. Take it from me: this watch is a fantastic value. Arguably, most important is that it has a sapphire crystal. All watches in the price range will have mineral crystals. Mineral scratches easily and sapphire is virtually impossible to scratch. Paired with a rubber strap, illumination in the dark, and easy to read numerals, this watch cannot be beat. It’s now my go to when I travel. I cannot comment on the self winding versions but their movements look quite good and if I were to gift this brand to someone, I would skip the quartz, but the quartz watch is an unbeatable value!

Three defective watches received, but…
Update #4I’ve had good communication with the company and they seem committed to getting to the bottom of the quality issues I’ve experienced. As I’ve said in earlier reviews: This is my first Vaer but I’m already a fan, so I’ve decided to stick with the watch I bought knowing that their support has been top-notch.Update #3After two weeks of wearing the third Vaer I received, the watch randomly lost 10 and 5 minutes In the space of a few days. Not a slowdown, but a sudden loss after being 100% accurate. No crazy activity either; just walking around the house and driving the car.I am extremely disappointed. Like, Charlie-Brown-and-the-football disappointed. I hear good things about Vaer, and I want to believe, so let’s try again. 🤦♂️Update #2Finally, a non-defective watch appeared and I'm very happy. I hope it provides many years of service. I’ve been wearing this a few days and it’s so light—it fits like a glove.First off, THANK YOU to Vaer for making a great looking 36mm field watch. These are almost impossible to find. Timex makes a 36mm field watch, but the band is only 18mm. Baer’s proportions of 36mm case to 20mm band is perfect for me.Second hand alignment: Vaer is very good about setting expectations for the alignment of the second hand (they have an FAQ explaining why it’s random-ish) but I lucked out: my second hand is perfectly aligned. Guess I got lucky.Date complication: The size and weight of the type, and the small window, makes it very hard to read.General readability: When the dial gets some light, the lume helps with readability, turning from pale white-green to a little green. In the winter, however, I wish there was some value/color difference to separate the hands from the other dial elements.Outer tick marks. I’m not sure why, but the second/minute marks are divided into thirds. It feels a little busy and pointless, as this watch has quartz movement and the second hand jumps from second to second, unlike a mechanical watch.Lume: As others remark, it’s excellent.Bands: I’m not a fan of either included band (black rubber: To grippy, hard to put on; khaki: too stiff) but fortunately, the 20mm lug width is common and I was able to find a fluoroelastomer sports band (Apple Watch-style aka pin and tuck) which is more comfortable.Update #1I can’t tell you how much I want to love this watch, but I keep getting defective models. With the first watch I ordered, the crown stem was too short: turning the stem to unlock it would change the date, then the time. It was impossible to set either. The second had a chipped crown and the dial was out of alignment.

Very impressed!
I've been wearing watches for almost 30 years now. This is easily my favorite one. I've had this watch for about 8 months now. It's comfortable on my wrist and easy to read. The indiglo is also easy to read in the dark. I like the sapphire crystal lens. The watch is very durable. I don't have to worry about breaking it. I was looking for something that was simple and easy to read. This is exactly what I have received in this watch.
