Another informative and useful book by Dr. Maffetone. I've been following Dr. M for years for his training and nutritional advice and this book is for a wider audience. He hits the nail on the head with the global issue of overfat-ism linked to sugar addiction and related processed food consumption. Fortunately, the reader is not bombarded with superfluous data to support the author's premise. The book does live up to its subtitle "Exposing the problem and its simple solution for anyone who needs to ELIMINATE EXCESS BODY FAT". Recommended.

Worth the read.
Really good and definitely recommend. Something every amateur athlete should read and have in their book shelter. Useful for a change or habit.

I wanted to like this as I've heard great things about this author. I am giving it two stars because I agree with much of the content (what I could tell from skimming) and the cover looks nice. But it was so terribly written I coudn't handle reading more than the first few pages. I just couldn't do it. It needs a really good edit. It was full of incorrect words and rambling sentances. It had no clear structure. Also there were many, many assertions with no evidence. There are lots of great books out there on low carb eating. Skip this one.

Excellent book, as you'd expect from Dr. Phil. A fairly quick read, but packed with useful information. Will keep as a reference book.

Improve your health, starting today, for free!
Maffetone nails the obesity problem and details how to get true health. The solution is free and easy to do, has almost immediate results, and saves everyone money. I've used his method in the past and still do. It's not a diet, just a way to eat better, not less. Most importantly, he explains why it works. Do yourself and your family a favor and read this book.

Good advice, easy to read, understand and implement
I enjoyed this book. I’ve long been looking for a nutritional approach that was simple and effective and I think this is it. As with all things, it relies on our discipline in following the guidelines as given. However, I think Phil Maffetone makes a compelling case that we are not just overweight, in general as a population, but also overfat, and it is this overfatness, particularly around our middles, that can have such a deleterious effect.

Excelente libro.
Si eres un atleta de resistencia (triatlon, ultramaraton, etc), esto te interesa, si estas interesado en cambiar tu estilo de vida, esto te interesa, si eres un humano, esto te interesa.Este libro es la versión ligera del anterior, endurance training and racing. Explica claramente el problema de el "sobre- grasa", como combatirlo y lo peligroso de los azucares y productos ultra procesados. He aplicado los principios de Phil y son un cambio radical en la vida y sobre todo en el entendimiento del daño que se le hace al cuerpo al consumir productos que la industria "alimenticia" vende como saludables.No duden en adquirir el libro y consultar la pagina en donde encontraran recetas deliciosas, como el fat burning coffee y articulos de gran interes.Este libro , deberia estar en la bibliografia obligatoria de todas las escuelas, para de alguna manera minimizar la pandemia que ya vivimos de niños diabeticos, con hipetension, higado graso e infartos al corazón.Leelo por ti, y terminaras cuidandote a ti y a los tuyos.

Temos o poder de mudar o nosso destino com mudanças no nosso estilo de vida. Dr. Phillip Maffetone, expõe o problema e o que precisa ser feito para que envelheçamos com dignidade e sem doenças. É um livro para ser lido várias vezes. Sou um fã desse autor e tenho a maioria dos seus livros. Utilizo a fórmula 180 ( MAF test) nos meus treinos e tive um bom resultado na minha 1a maratona . Para a próxima maratona vou fazer meus treinos aeróbicos de base, usando a fórmula acima citada. Compensa muito esse livro e os demais desse autor.
