Superb. With one notable exception.
The packaging is a work of art. I opened the box and (being a mere male) looked for the Quick Start guide. There isn’t one. You get an operating instruction booklet advising you to “Please read these operating instructions before using the unit”. So I sat and read them. All 64 pages of them. I ended up with a vague feeling of panic. Then I thought ‘this is only a flipping ‘phone, just how difficult can it be?”.So if you buy one, to help you get going here is my own quick start guide about how to replace your old telephones with these…Leave your old phone(s) in situ while you charge the batteries...Unpack the boxFit the supplied batteries into the handsetsPlug the base sets into a mains supply to charge the batteries. At this point the handset display will tell you to “Press OK”. What? No, it’s not you. There isn’t a button marked “OK” anywhere on on the handset. Just press the middle of the big one marked with arrows, it worked for me.While the handsets are charging a message “Check phone line” will show on the handset screens. Ignore it.When the batteries are charged replace your old phone(s) with the new ones and connect the phone line to the base unit.Bingo. No worries. You will find that it all works first time. All you really have to do is set the date and time. One other thing. Finding the menu confused me for a while. That’s because there isn’t a button on the handset marked “Menu”. To access the menu do this. Lift up the handset and press the top of the red key (the – sign). That will bring up the menu. Navigate around it with the + or – and arrow keys as appropriate.Other than that; the piano black plastic styling is great, the handsets are a nice weight, the pre set volumes and ringtone were fine for us, the buttons on the handset are big and firm and the handset display is very clear. All in all absolutely superb. Except, of course, for the absence of a quick start guide (see above). If you really want to dig into the operating instructions to work out how to do all the clever things that these phones can do, then the best of British luck to you. After all, everyone needs a hobby.

At Last I found it..
After three separate attempts at buying a decent answering machine/cordless phone, all being returned,in the last two weeks, so so discouraging.. I don't normally write reviews but this requires it,as for me its tops !!! Great quality for the price, easy to navigate, and being deaf on one side, ringtones are superb, would highly recommend this phone..

Excellent with Hearing Aids and folk with hearing problems.
The best landline DECT phones we found having crisp & clearer digital speakers (front & on the back) than older the Panasonic s it replaced.we've tried many others and can honestly say that (even without Bluetooth which is sometimes found in some more expensive & foreign/USA phones for connecting mobile phones & transferring contact numbers) it is as near as perfect for the UK landline for those with hearing challenges. You have to key in contacts and phone numbers but only once as it updates the other twin phone with them.If you find difficulty hearing use speakerphone button and sometimes listen to the speaker on the reverse side as its bigger! Excellent compared with other makes we tried. Would recommend wholeheartedly.

Not for the hard of hearing.
We bought this phone as our previous phones had started playing up.The sound quality of this phone is poor. I don’t have any hearing issues but I struggled to hear the person on the other end.It also doesn’t have the functionality that our previous phones had.I’ve kept them because not many people telephone us on the landline and I wanted a phone for emergencies but I wouldn’t recommend it if you have hearing issues.
