Da Vinci Code Mini Cryptex Valentine's Day Interesting Creative Romantic Birthday Gifts for Her

I purchased this for my nephew's upcoming 21st birthday. I like to give him motivational character-building gifts. One year for Christmas I wrapped all his gifts individually and then wrapped everything in layers of crepe paper until I ended up with a big ball. It took him about an hour to finally unwrap everything. But he won't forget that Christmas. So for his 21st birthday I got him this puzzle and I will put something unexpected inside. Once he figures out the password then he can get the rest of his gift. The puzzle arrived quickly and I was surprised by the weight. Honestly, I expected something flimsier but this is something he will keep. Outstanding quality and I highly recommend.

I saw this item and knew right away that I had to use it for my next romantic surprise. This item did not disappoint! It it very durable and weighty. The letters rotate very easily, so sometimes you have to hold the other letters in place while you line up the others.The instructions were very easy to follow on resetting the code.TIP: The letters will get stuck/hard to move if you put them on upside down while changing the code. I did this on accident and had a tough time prying them apart. They were designed to go together a specific way.TO PUT THE LETTERS ON CORRECTLY: Have the letter wheel in your RIGHT hand (letters right-side up) and the lock wheel that goes beneath it in your LEFT hand. If you put it together this way, you won't have any issues.The inside is a tube about the size of a quarter in diameter. I was able to fit several things inside to make the gift complete. I haven't tried the rings yet, so I do not yet know if they tarnish or not. The gold ring is slightly bigger than the silver ring (the gold fits my ring finger and the silver fits my pinky).This item also came with two extra screws and a pair of nonquality necklaces (small rope-type) you can use to put the rings on, I'm guessing. I honestly just tossed the necklaces.

this is actually metal, easy to change and a good gift, my 1 gripe with it is that the end cap that is connected the the item holding cylinder (the tube that holds the rings) can be unscrewed and thus you can change the password or unlock it without putting the code in, you can glue that end cap to the threaded area and then that way you MUST have the password to open it or change it

This is absolutely wonderful. My husband was obsessed with Dan Brown when we first started dating and when I got pregnant 2 years ago it was hard to find a cryptex that was under $50. So I went to eBay and ordered the special addition of the DaVinci code that came with the small one. It was so tiny inside I could barely fit the pregnancy test strip (already a small amazon one). The thing is, the small one is easy to crack because when you hold it at a certain angle all you have to do it wait for each ring to click into place.I saw this one on a lightning deal and thought I could have some fun with Valentine's day (already too late for Christmas). I am blown away by the quality. I showed it to my husband already because I was so impressed. I didn't even realize it came with two rings and what's more perfect is that the rings fit us both perfectly on our wedding ring finger and they are LOTR ones. I have always wanted to get him one (he has like 5 wedding rings already and chooses based on day). So it's like two gifts in one.I asked my husband what he thought of the cryptex and he said the rings were stiff. Which is a huge, huge plus. It means it's not crackable without knowing the code, unlike the small one. There is a way to break into from the top but my husband said he would glue it so it would have to be solved. I think the hardest part now is coming up with 6 letter codes instead of 5 letters. This is absolutely wonderful. Honestly I'm kind of bummed I didn't have this when we got engaged or married as it's so perfect for rings and comes with foam. But hey, our 10 year dating anniversary is in a couple months. Might still be used for rings after all.If you're extra and thinking about adding a fun element, get this. We have been using the small one for two years. Movie tickets for date night, maps of hidden gifts, etc. This one has twice the size capacity. It could even hold a key.
