A must for troubleshooting
The “paper clip” test (shorting power and ground pins on the ATX power connector) can’t verify that all other connectors are working properly.This little device helped me confirm a DOA motherboard and saved me a lot of hassle. It is well worth the money.

Does not load test PSU
Seems to work fine testing a PSU in a non loaded state, but I just had a PSU with a bad 5v circuit when loaded and this did NOT detect the fault.

Shows most of what I need to know
All power supply connectors have detailed information about their voltages, except for the sata and molex connectors. My specific problem was the sata cable was defective and it fried a hard drive. After buying a new one and comparing with this tool, the 12V green led on the side was ever so slightly dimmer on the defective one. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't do a comparison. I don't understand why I get 3 leds for the sata connector, while all other connectors have their specific values shown on the display.
