This light is perfect for my shower. We love the different features. Perfect for our needs

Love this light but I originally bought it for the shower and when I installed the batteries (4 D size) it becamvery heavey and I was afraid to put it on the ceiling with "command strips" so we put it outside on the back porch. I works great!! It is very bright too. The reason for only 4 stars is that my husband read on the instructions not to use in humidity !! It is advertised on Amazon as:" Nouscan Motion Sensor Ceiling Light Battery Operated, Wireless LED Wall Lighting Fixture with Remote, Dimmable, Timer, Daylight for Closet, Bathroom, Shower, Garage, Pantry, Stairs" I hope it holds up outside in the humidity there? and I hope the batteries last for a while. I will update when I know better

Wouldn’t buy it again due to needing the D batteries.

I purchased this light to illuminate a dark corner in a warehouse where I have a utility sink. There is no easy way to route electricity here so a battery powered light was the solution I chose. I have attached a picture of this area being lit with the light on a temporary mount. I have also attached pictures of the manual for the light.This light has a lot of features. I ended up using a feature I did not anticipate needing. The sink is in the corner of a warehouse under an overhang so the main lighting for the warehouse casts a shadow here.I evaluated two different lights for this area and the first light I tested failed to work here. The motion sensor on that light had a light sensor integrated to prevent the light from coming on during the day. Unfortunately, enough light was available in this corner so the light would not turn on unless the main warehouse lights were turned off. The Nouscan light motion sensing setting has an option to only come on when it is dark or to come on during the day. It is set with the remote control. Setting it to come on during the day with motion solved my issue.The Nouscan light is fairly bright and claims to be 280 lumen. I do not have an accurate way to measure that but it was brighter than another light I tested that claimed to be 300 lumen.The light has two multi position sliding switche, one on either side of the motion sensor. Curiously, the light that I received was missing the labelling telling you what the switches do. It is not hard to figure out and described in the manual. One switch is Off/Auto/On and the other is brightness. If you set the light to its lowest setting with the switch you can actually override with the remote to the brightest setting. The remote has other settings to turn the light off and on, change the motion mode to work during the day and a timed light function. My remote came with batteries preinstalled in it. You need to point the remote at the light for it to work. There is an IR sensor next to the motion sensor.The light takes 4 D cell batteries which means it should last quite a while between battery changes compared to other lights that use less or smaller batteries. The downside to that is the light is heavy. It is well built so it is not light to start with and with 4 D cells in it its heavy enough that you should make sure you adequately mount it to the ceiling with proper anchors. You could also opt to use D cell adapters that allow you to put one or two AA batteries in a D cell sized holder which would make it lighter with less run time. The light is also a little thick at almost 2 1/2" but it works well. I recommend the light.

We have a small hallway that needed a little bit of light, but we didn't want to go to the trouble of installing an electrical box to hardwire it. This light fits that need well.The instructions leave a lot to the imagination, but it wasn't difficult to figure it out. Unfortunately, we have a popcorn ceiling in that location, so we needed to use longer screws than provided to secure the base plate. My husband was able to place 2 screws into a ceiling truss which was sufficient to secure it. It does take 4 D batteries, which adds to the weight of the light.There are two switches on the light to control brightness and mode (off, on, auto). The switches weren't labeled and were opposite to what the instructions indicated. We set the light to auto and mid brightness. The remote control is required to program the automatic function to either motion detection day or motion detection night. When in the auto mode, motion detection night only comes on when motion is detected in the dark, while the day function works regardless of how much light there is. The remote can also be used to control the brightness and off, on and auto functions. So far, the motion detection works quite well and turns on when you are within (approximately) a 10 feet radius. The brightness of the light is about what we expected for a battery powered light.It's too early to determine how long the batteries will last, but we hope with the settings we chose (auto night and medium brightness), will prolong the battery life. When the batteries need to be replaced, just twist the light to remove from the base plate, similar to replacing the batteries in a smoke detector.

Good for small spaces but the light even on its highest setting is not that bright. Good as a night light for a child or in closets etc.
