Great tool. Would buy again. Plier set type would be nice as well.
Glad I got it. Always wanted one and figured it was time used it instantly on a head gasket replacement and it made most of the hose work easier. Takes a little time to get use to. Also has another spot on the actuator that clips can get stuck on and makes it harder to impossible to use. The holding works ok but not always perfect. Some stuff it feels like you need three hands. More use and I'm sure I'll get even better. Plier still work well for easy and small stuff. Thing makes it great in certain spots that it's needed and easier for.

Amazing tool.
I love this tool!!! I finally used it today on my 1991 Toyota 4Runner v6. If you are familiar with this SUV, you know that the engine has a ridiculous amount of hoses. Spend the 10 bucks to buy this tool. Soooo worth it. This tool holds the OEM clamps really well and the ratcheting-like lever stays stuck in place so that you don't have to keep continuous pressure on the handles. The clamps will not pop away from this clamp like when using needle nose pliers. I recommend this exact clamp plier with an angle rather than straight tips. To make work easier simply use 3m silicone paste/grease or spray on the water outlet pipe/tube and around the hose where the clamp will be slipped on to slide into smoothly. I always hated OEM clamps because they always pop from using needle tip pliers, very painful & dangerous if it hits you or someone else around you. I can't believe I went for so many years without buying this product. It's the many hoses on the 4Runner that finally convinced me.

Falls apart after heavy use, but still works
I'm a professional mechanic, and I've abused this for a few years. Recently, the device got locked on a hose clamp in a terrible place, it was my fault. I pried it open, and it still works. The sleeve tore off the line, and the spring rolls freely on the pliers end. The clamp lost some range about a year ago, but it still works perfectly for me.

Great tool at a fair price!
This tool really was worth the purchase price. It made removing radiator hose clamps easier, especially the lower hose clamps, which because of its location, would have been a pain to remove without this tool.

Strong and dependable
The media could not be loaded. These hose clamp pliers have stood up to some of the biggest lower radiator hose clamps and work on the smaller sizes as well . The locking feature allows you to compress the clamp and let the pliers hold it open allowing you to use both hands to get the clamp into position . Built very well and the adjustment let's you basically shorten the cable to get extra leverage on heavy clamps. Always will have a set of these in my tool box. Factory clamps hold the best so These make it so you don't have to remove them and replace with the worm gear type. Thanks!

Good price strange to use
These are priced right but for my use they were not working well. If you need to use these in tight spots around the car I wouldn’t recommend. They don’t fit well in small areas.

These Pliers are a Great Value. Every Toolbox Should Have These Pliers.
My project was the result of a failed CTB that was located under the plenum. Once I saw the condition of the hoses and other CTB, I decided to replace all of them. This meant that I had to remove 38 CTB. While many of them could be removed with a needle nose pliers. They really aren't the right tool for the job. These pliers are designed to securely hold the tabs of the CTB and they have a ratchet lock that allows you to keep the CTB tabs compressed while you are removing the old CTB or installing the new CTB into the correct position. The angled jaw allow you reach into tight spaces and around obstructions. The locks are easy to release and the grips are comfortable. The Ares tech videos helped me pick the best tool for my needs. These high quality pliers are reasonably priced. Every toolbox should have these pliers.
