Great sugar substitute. Cannot get over the small amount to equal a teaspoon of sugar. Cost is expensive, but the amounts used per serving seem to be equalizer. Does not appt mess with glycemic levels.

I bought this product a few years ago, and it lasted me all this time! This batch is a different color, and requires a much larger serving for the same sweetness, but it’s still good! I prefer the flavor of monk fruit over sugar, and this doesn’t disappoint.

I would say, first of all, I've re-ordered this several times as I've used up what I purchased. It is an excellent sweetener overall. A sort of tea-like taste that blends well in drinks. In my experience though it doesn't stand up well to any cooking process which I personally use. It's more of an after cooking seasoning that needs careful blending with ingredients or a small amount of water so you don't end up with something overpoweringly sweet.If I had any complaint at all, it would be that the sweetness level for a specific measurement varies from container to container. I've had one which was about twice as strong as the average, and two that were half as strong as the average. This isn't something that you're going to have a problem with, generally speaking, if you use it the way I've used it. But it can lead to some inconsistent results if you're counting on it as part of a cooking process in that you wouldn't be actively tasting for the flavor change prior to cooking a batter or pastry.

I first purchased it May 2019 for $25.00, then in December 2020 for $30.00, now in 2024 the price is $50.00. It is now 2024.I will continue to purchase it because the quality is so high and everything else has gone up in price for so many reasons since 2019! I mix it in a large container with one bag of Splenda, one bag of Anthony's Erythritol and this 3.5 oz container of Smart Monk. The results is a superior taste experience. Splenda sells blended mixtures, but I have no way of knowing how much Monk is actually in their product. The combination of the 3 has the magic taste and texture and I don't experience the gastric side effects that Erythritol, which is a sugar alchohol, is famous for!

Then about a week later (7/7/19) had a full on grand mal seizure and was hospitalized for 4 days. I had told my roommate that I was going to stop using it due to my suspicion that the weird taste in my mouth occurred after about 3-5 days of use was from the Monk Fruit sweetener. Unfortunately she remembered this (concern about the monk fruit and when I was hospitalized she tossed out the container of "Smart Monk" so testing was not an option.However I had ordered another container of Smart Monk for a friend, a few days after ordering the first for myself....I had not ever considered the possibility of contamination of an entire lot of the product but he told me the other day he had quit using the sweetener as it made him feel (in his words) as if he smoked some weed....bad weed LOL.After seeing all the other reviews of funny tastes etc. I am going to see if he still has the container and how much it would cost to have it tested for contamination.

I'm so excited about this product! It's definitely "different" than any other alternative to sugar that you've ever tried, & I think it will end up being an aquired taste over time. I'm a vegan tea & coffee "snob" for lack of better word. When I first scooped it into my hot tea, it gave off a burnt smell (how I'd best describe it). So I immediately came back on here to check reviews to make sure nothing had happened to this product since I purchased it. Mostly good, but some very bad reviews. Regardless, I decided to give it a sip anyways. Much to my surprise, despite the smell, it will work perfectly for my healthier sugar-alternative needs (without all the erythritol, saccharin, sugar alcohols, aspartame, gmo xylitol, etc that are typically what 0-calorie sweeteners are comprised of). I think the mistake most ppl are making is adding way too much of it. A serving size is only about 1/4 of a teaspoon, that's about how much I put into my 12 oz cup of tea. I've been avoiding processed sugars for a long time, so maybe that's why it won't be as big of a switch for me? I'd say if you're wanting to get off sugar too (as it is like a drug in the body), maybe try transitioning with part organic cane sugar, part this product, & do a little less sugar each time. I've been using monk fruit sweeteners for over five years. Smart Monk is the best tasting monk fruit sweetener IMHO. I use it in my coffee, ice tea, oatmeal and for most of my sweeten needs.
