Excellent reliable programmable cat biscuit feeder
This is excellent, so far had it since October 2024, my cat comes in for an afternoon feed like clockwork now. Very useful for when you are unable to feed your cat i.e. holidays or out for the day. It is easy to programme reliable to use, not had to change the batteries yet after more than six months. Well made and cat proof. I screwed it to a heavy piece of plywood to make sure. Was more reliable than my neighbour who promised to feed my cat wet food whilst I was away but didnt very often (?). Only negative , initially I thought the portion size was a little bit too big. Only improvement I would suggest if they ever remake it is to programme in a half portion to spread food out in smaller installments for cats who are greedy and eat too fast and come in looking for more. Id like to spread out six half portions if I am away and then no need to ask neighbours. But otherwise everything about it design, look ease of use is excellent. The hopper also keeps biscuits fresh, the cat has never refuse any. And only the first time I filled it and tried it did he manage to use his paws to get more biscuits out of the nozzle himself (great video of this) . I also have a Catmate magnetic catflap. So I trust the brand. I bought a different hopper feeder before this one and it had nothing to stop kilos of food spilling out of it.I am glad I bought a real one from Catmate, , the bowl is also very easy to wash.

5 Stars – Reliable and Precise Pet Feeder
This feeder has been brilliant for managing portion control for our cat and gives us real peace of mind if we’re away for a night or two. The timer is easy to set, the portions are consistent, and it’s been completely reliable so far. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to keep feeding times regular.

Works well, poor instructions, some design issues
After much deliberation over which auto feeder to go for, I chose this one. It's not really intended for holidays so much as to make sure the cat gets fed at the same times every day, particularly when I'm out of the house for over 12 hours for work. Also to give him a smaller feed in the early hours to stop him trampling me for food at 3am...! The product is fairly easy to assemble if you read the written instructions rather than following the pictures, which are fairly impenetrable. Setting the timer is easy enough but only if you completely ignore the instructions and just apply logic...! Also batteries are not included and are not cheap, so I do hope they last for the advertised time period. The food seems fairly secure inside the hopper. That said my cat, bless him, is not overly endowed with the clever, so it's not even occurred to him to try and get inside the hopper. Smarter cats may have more success! Food dispenses on time in the portions I choose (1 portion seems to be around 12g of Science Diet). It isn't quiet, but I don't hear it in the night or first thing in the morning when it dispenses while I am asleep (though I do wear earplugs to sleep and it's a couple of rooms away). The main issue that I have is just that the dish is so deep that there are some places where the food dispenses that he just can't seem to reach. He may learn this with practice though (I hope so!). Overall it seems to function well, is secure and sturdy and I'm happy with it, but there are some design refinements that could be made, and the instructions could certainly be better...!

Does the job very well
We got this to feed the hedgehogs that visit the garden while we were on holiday. We set it up under cover so it didn't get wet and it worked perfectly. So much so, we've just left it, saves us a job! It's great having more than 1 feeding time as they come at different times, and the one coming later can miss out. So we added an extra feed at midnight. Putting it together wasn't straightforward and I like to think I'm good at that kind of thing. The instructions weren't perfect. Getting the top into the base was the trickiest part but we managed in the end. Programming it is really easy, but I'd recommend doing it at eye level the first time as I hadn't a clue what the flashing numbers meant as I couldn't see the labels. Once at eye level it all made sense. It drops about 12g of food which is only just enough. I'd rather it was slightly more as 24g is too much. All in all, a little pricey but worth it, does the job very well. And the hedgehogs appreciate it!

Great addition to our home
Bought this after much research as life in our home has changed so much recently and wanted some simplification in feeding our animals. We have two cats and a dog. It is always a bit of a gamble when introducing new things and ideas to animals that like their own established routines, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Firstly the product. It is very well made and robust. I personally found it easy to set up even with just the paper instructions. There is also a YouTube video that clearly helps should you prefer to see rather than read how to set up the feeding schedule. Btw I'm no spring chicken at 60 but, for me, it seemed really easy to set up. Next the animals. One thing you will note is that it is a little noisy when it is dispensing the dry food. The unit has a mechanical screw type dispenser so you would expect some noise. The two cats we have, one old British Short hair and one Maine Coon 18 weeks old, have adapted really easily to this new kind of feeding. The younger cat hears the food being dispensed and makes a bee line straight to the food. The older cat meanders to the dispenser at a more leisurely rate of knots! Both cats are not disturbed by the noise of this item when it dishes out the food. We have not had to fix the unit to the ground as some have had to do but I guess that depends on how energetic you cats/dogs are in your home. There is provision to fix your unit should you so desire. Next - only time will tell as to how long the batteries will last and how well the machine will function, I will update as time passes. For us at this moment in time it has really been a good buy. We would have liked an option to plug the unit into the mains rather than use batteries but, if they last a reasonable time, this is not restrictive. Hope this review helps.

Already have one of these. Have had it for at least 10 years. Use it to feed our feral cat. Still working great. Now have three feral cats stopping in to eat. Decided to get another one. Really great thing about these fHas worked great reeders is they take 4 C batteries and they last for over a year. I always replace them the beginning of winter so I don't really know how long they would actually last. I built a wooden box about 3 foot tall and mounted the feeder inside that feeds down to the dish. I have a lid on it to keep the raccoons out of it.

My job used to take me out of town 2-3 days in a row. When I free-fed my cat, she would eat all her extra food the first day and was starving when I got home. I bought this feeder FIVE YEARS ago and it's still going strong today! I don't travel for work anymore but I keep using it. My cat knows its schedule, so no problem if I'm not home, and she doesn't bug me for food when I am. Batteries last forever and with no cords, it can be placed anywhere. It has never let me down and my cat has always maintained a healthy weight. Set up and cleaning is easy, portion controls are adjustable, and the food storage is ample and secure. The only drawback is I wish it had 4 settings instead of 3. In summary, I will buy this feeder again for its quality and value when my current one finally fails.
