Easy to use
Easy to use, right out of the box. Purchased for the Christmas tree lights inside, performed perfectly. Worked well and so convenient, we now use it on the living room table lights. Remote control comes with the battery installed. Basically, plug n play.

Great for Night Use Without Bright Lights
I bought this wireless outlet switch to control low-level lighting in hallways without turning on harsh room lights. Bright lighting makes it hard for me to relax and fall back asleep, so I use this outlet with an amber nightlight and turn it on or off with the remote only when needed. I also like that the side light only turns on when the unit itself is on. Pressing the wireless button produces a very soft click—much quieter and more satisfying than an old Radio Shack unit I had that eventually stopped working. I prefer complete darkness while sleeping, so having quick and easy control over the light is important to me. The switch works reliably and feels well-built. The only downside is that the remote uses a non‑standard battery, which costs more than standard batteries.

Does Not Work - Updated with Happy Ending
Bought it for my father-in-law. Works erratically. Tried fresh battery but no better. Sometimes it comes on when you press “on” and sometimes it goes off when you press “off”. I have a Treemote at my home and it’s flawless. Hope nobody else buys one expecting it to actually work like I did. Update - The seller apologized and sent me a new device (unrequested) to try. It works perfectly! I will have no problem ordering again from this seller/company and have revised my rating.

Works perfectly
I bought these for my mother-in-law since her lights are those where you need to physically turn the switch next to the bulb. The remote is a game changer and reduces her fall risk at home. This way she does not have to lean over and risk falling to just turn the lights on. The remote comes with a keychain attached to it and battery already installed. Therefore, you can hang the remote up somewhere or you can carry it with you, if you wanted to. The remote seems kind of fragile so I would not recommend carrying it around. There are two light bulb images at the top of the remote. The left bulb is shown as lit and the right bulb is shown as not being lit. These are supposed to resemble ON and OFF. Therefore, you need to press on the end of the button for whether you want to turn the outlet on or off and not on the middle of the button. The outlets are already preprogrammed so all you need to do is plug it in. To activate, you need to press the on/off button on the side of each outlet. Each outlet has a number on the back that matches the number on the remote. For instance, the #1, #2, and #3. That makes it easy to know which outlet you want to plug in at a certain area. There may be a slight delay when turning on/off but it is pretty negligible. I think these are excellent for people that are elderly, people that have hard to reach switches, or those that want the convenience of using a remote. However, I wish it came with two remotes. That way the remote is not carried between rooms. This is the biggest drawback I see at the moment. I am happy with this purchase and I would purchase these again for their convenience and ease of use.

Had it plugged on the Christmas tree and it works perfectly. Easy to use, no set-up, just plug and go. Was much cheaper than those Christmas tree shaped remotes.

FRUSTRATING PACKAGING ALERT!! Great product! Works well once installed. Not a fan of multi-function single switches but this has limited functions which limits the frustration. Instructions are poor. It took a few wtf tries to get the plugs programmed. But they're all working well. And you can cross-program - i.e. a lamp/appliance can be programmed to more than 1 button. Using button batteries available at dollar stores is a good bonus. BIG (-1*) BEEF: all (5) plugs are train-packed/plugged together into a fort knox style BLOCK. It makes sense for packing but makes unpacking a royal pain. I almost sent everything back. And it's like there's a suction on the prongs. You pull and pull and they just suck themselves back together. The plastic is super-smooth which is nice looking but there's zero pull-apart grip even with rubber gloves. I had to wedge-pry the plugs apart with a flat screwdriver which ruined the edge on the first plug. I used an exacto blade to get enough space for the screwdriver for the others. This is really useful but especially for people who have difficulty reaching lamp switches or difficulty balancing to use foot switches. I bought a set for a senior and they love being able to turn their lights on and off without reaching and having a remote on each floor that works everything. But they can't install these themselves if they can't pull the plugs apart as packed. I can't imagine people with even mildly arthritic hands trying to get these plugs apart. HELLO DEWENWILS: train-pack your plugs with foam/cardboard SPACERS (min. 1/4") that leave a gap for fingers to get in at the edge. it would make it somewhat easier for customers to finger-pry them apart without mangling them with metal tools.

I bought this 5 pack of remote control outlets to use in my workshop. At first I thought that these were too underpowered, but they work just fine. I have one attached to my vacuum/dust collector and I love being able to turn it on and off without being near it. Another thing that I admire is that there is a button that will turn all of them off at once which can double as an emergency shut off switch for safety. I recommend this product and I can say that they are capable for almost every application
