NAD C 338 Hybrid Digital DAC Amplifier

This device does it nearly all : Except LAN ( ethernet ). I couldn't test all the streaming cababilities or the phono board - just the sound with CDs : very good for the price, easy listening at a higher level, powerful if not very taught bass, warm mids and discret highs. The best class D amp I heard untill now ! Given that all the features will fonction seamlessly, this is the All-in-One pack that brings a lot of joy into your house !

I bought this amp as I wanted to update my 20 year old Sony amplifier. As soon as I turned it on I could tell it was not as good. The bass response was disappointing, the middle and top end ok. The connectivity is excellent, the app works well, chromecast etc easy to use. If you haven’t had a good amp before you may like it, but with my Mission M74s, it was a let down. Returned with no problems, I now have a greater respect for my 20 year old Sony TA-FB940R....

This is a review for using this as a home cinema amplifier. This not aimed at discussing the points of interest at an “audiophile” level.If that’s what you’re looking for start at an Audiolab 6000A and go from there (it’s a lovely piece of kit!)The NAD is well built, minimalist in design. It’s a worthy successor to earlier products from the brand. I had a NAD Viso 2 for over 10 years but wanted a streaming solution for my current kit.No lack of punch in the sound & plenty of clarity. It’s warm rather than bright & not at all harsh in prolonged & varying use.With a subwoofer connected (Q Acoustic 3070s) it’s got plenty of bottom end.Streaming is nice & easy - sounds good enough - no lack of depth.Connected with Chord Company optical for TV & Chord subwoofer cable (both from C-lite range)Speakers: Monitor Audio Radius & Chord Silver Screen cable.Very nice - recommended. Delivery from Sevenoaks was quick - next day by DPD.Note: I had a Denon AVR before this & it was awful by comparison - returned to seller.
