JOYO Buffer Tuner Pedal Built-in Buffer with Accurate Tuning and LED Screen for Electric Bass Guitar Effects (Buffer Tune JF-19)

An accurate tuner, easy to use. The power pass through is a nice bonus. Though large, the screen can be tricky to read because of block letter styling (for example, "B" looks the same as "8".Not the greatest for the price point, but not something I regret getting, either.

This tuner is very easy to use compared to other more expensive tuner pedals I own. Plug in, step on it and tune. The display is HUGE and easily understood, probably from the ISS. No exotic tunings or calibration that I can identify. If you need that stuff you'll pay more for a different tuner. I haven't checked it with a strobe but it seems to agree with a couple other tunersI cross-checked. I've used it as a buffer and true bypass. The buffer seems fine, I didn't notice any significant change in tone or level, should work fine to drive a long cable or effects chain. Haven't tried it with any non-standard tunings, I'm currently forcing myself to play by the rules for awhile. Not sure if it's worth $60 without more features, there are definitely cheaper options, but it seems well built and I've had very good luck with Joyo products in general.

I have actually gone through three pedal tuners, two clip-ons, and one standalone old-style bar chromatic tuner lately. They all have varying degrees of accuracy and visibility. This one falls about in the middle for both, but considering it is the second cheapest, this is a good deal for those looking for a small form pedal tuner that don't need the extreme nit accuracy.I recently sold off a Boss TU-3 because, as a former semi-pro classical musician with really good pitch, I was bothered by the fact that it intentionally tunes the D flat, throwing off most chords (I believe Andertons video review came to the same conclusion). I was able to test out some other no-name tuners in the interim. The other day I picked up a Peterson StroboStomp HD LE, one of the cream of the crop pedal tuners out there.Comparing this cheap tuner to the Boss and Peterson is not a fair comparison, but it actually holds its own if you consider the price and target crowd, i.e., those who want to be in tune for a budget but aren't as picky as someone like me.The tuner itself plugged in and ran easily off my pedalboard power source. It was virtually plug and play, and I was tuning in a few seconds.The screen is bright indoors, as most LED based screens are, but not as bright as the Boss. The Boss struggles outside, so while I did not test this one outside, I assume it will too.It seems OK in terms of speed of picking up and adjusting to the tuning, but it is definitely not as fast as the StroboStomp.It is much smaller than the StroboStomp and slightly smaller than the Boss, so if you are hurting for board space, that is a plus.Long and short of it, this is not a StroboStomp (or even a Boss), but for the price, you shouldn't expect that. It is almost 1/4 the price of the StroboStomp LE, and almost 1/2 the price of a Boss tuner. With that in mind, it could be a good tuner for someone less serious or just starting out. It works, seems solid, and is a good price.

This tuner is made for use in a pedal board only. In that regard, it's OK. It draws a lot of power and no power supply or adapter is included in the price. It's well made, but it is big, bulky and heavy for what it does. I don't perform on stage, so I don't have a pedal board that I can just plug in and try this with, so I had to get an adapter. For me, this is probably not going to be usable unless/until I start using a pedalboard. I use a modeling pedalboard, rather than the traditional type, and that has a tuner built in.The display looks dated. If you compare it to the display on a Snark tuner or other pedal tuners, it's like a dot matrix printer vs a laser printer output. It works well, but in this day and age it should be less bulky and have a much better display.
