Q: Does this work well on bass

I have not tried this pedal on bass. But it works great on my guitar. Highly recommended.

Q: Can you achieve a good slap back delay for rockabilly style? if so, is this off the std switches or can it be found via tone print? thank you

Yes it can be used for rockabilly style slapback delay brilliantly in a number of modes, just with very short delay time of course. It’s great fun to experiment. I am certain that there will also be a large number of great toneprints for that style too. This pedal is awesome. I use it for slapback on the 2290 mode.

Q: Is the effect selector switch clicky or does it sweep round?

Not a hard click per say, more of a sweep with noticeable notch for each of the delay models/toneprint slots.

Q: I see this item comes from germany, is is compatible for use in the uk? sorry for lack of knowledge but buying as gift.

Yes, it's fine. Guitar pedals, including this one, are powered via an independent supply unit your guitarist friend will probably already have. If not, he/she will need one, which obviously does need to be UK mains compatible, to use the pedal.
