First off I am not a professional barber, that being said I do cut my dad's, a couple of friends, and my own hair. These are absolutely great! These clippers seem like they will cut through any hair without a fuss(I can't be sure about ethnic hair but I believe the Magic Clip is made for that), I can zip through hair without slowing down and can be comfortable knowing that no stragglers will be left behind. The Magic Clip with its adjustable lever is perfect for fading, I gave my pop a fade and my mother loved it, so I take that as the ultimate approval and I even use it for balding my best friend and his dads hair. The Razor Edger is great for doing line ups, edge work(obviously), and for working around the beard. It comes with a dual hangar that rests on any cabinet door and I'm sure it will fit a plethora of other rigging to keep your clippers close by. It comes with one large comb, I rarely use it because I cut mostly short cuts but I picked up 2 decent combs at Sally's for a couple of bucks. It also comes with a small bottle of oil, actually mine came with 2 and 2 cleaning brushes, and although these clippers don't get hot super fast I do recommend picking up a can of Andis Cool Car Plus for quick cooling and lubrication. This set is also wonderful for doing self cuts, I have give myself a crew cut and because I was lazy a couple of weeks ago a simple buzz cut, it worked flawlessly for both. The single cord solution is also very handy and simple to use. I have also cleaned these and it was super easy. One very important thing is that I like to zero gap my clippers and the Magic Clip is the easiest Fade Clipper I have done this with(it should be noted that most wahl pro fades are easier than other brands in this regard). Both clippers are capable of getting super close but the Razor Edger triumps at this task straight out of the box. I really can't say enough good things about this kit, I'm really glad my old barber recommended them to me, he was going to use his Pro discount at Sally's so I could get thim at his price, but I found them on here for about $30 cheaper, and they was on my porch in 2 days. If your an at home barber like me you can't go wrong with this kit and I would even venture to say this would be good for anyone from a mom wanting to save money cutting your kids hair to the most seasoned master barber. One thing I would recommend is getting either the Wahl Case that is sold separately or getting another way of storing/carrying your kit, I use a 5 dollar tool bag I got for my drill at wal-mart(my drill now is in a bigger bag for all the accessories I've accumulated), just be sure to put your blade guards on when storing them, which brings me to the only con I have for these: The blade guard for the Razor Edger will fall off very easily, I remedied this with a piece of Scotch Tape. My phone is broke or I would include pics but mine look just like the picture of the box.P.S. For anyone who wants to know I did take apart the Magic Clip and it does indeed come with the V9000 electric motor.

I like the clippers and trimmers. I've been using them on clients 10 months. They are sharp and easy to use. I've been using Whal clippers and trimmers for decades. This is my 3rd or 4th set in 30 years so Whal makes quality products. The only reason this set didn't get 5 stars is because I don't like there only being one cord that you swap between the two. It's supposed to help with having less cords dangling everywhere but you have to stop and unplug the one you're using and plug in the other back and forth. It's not helpful in the long run. I want another cord so I can keep them both plugged in and not have to swap back and forth. They do get pretty warm but not to the point of burning the client.

Amazing products would recommend

Used twice since I bought these. The power cord now doesn't lock in place (even when the retention clips are holding it correctly), so now the clippers don't power on unless I'm holding the cord in tight. This makes them impossible to use, and when I try to use them while holding the power cord with the other hand, it constantly turns on and off as the angle of the cord changes slightly. I do not recommend! I spent a lot of money on these because I thought I was upgrading from a cheap version, but now I wish I had never bought this and just kept my cheap version instead!

This is such an incredible idea from Wahl that I personally want to keep it a secret. It just seems that when things are too good to be true in the barber world that they tend to get discontinued or the price will get jacked up and then no one will be able to afford it. Frankly, I'm scared a Wahl rep will see this and realize that they've discovered a diamond. So as a little insurance I bought two- yeah...it's that good AND I am probably going to buy another one. Two clippers, one cord?? It doesn't get any better than that.The clipper is a very good cutting machine. Just what you'd expect from a professional quality magnetic clipper. So it's great for all around cutting, tapering, and fading. The only drawback may be the size and weight of the clipper. It is on the larger and heavier end of the clipper spectrum. I don't have very big hands and it's still not much of a setback.The trimmer is also a very good cutting trimmer. It includes the Wahl zero-gapping tool which makes adjusting your trimmer blades the closest, yet safest height easily attainable. And I mean EASY. No more trial and error by way of giving your customers tattoos. The only draw back of this particular trimmer is that it is on the larger side and once again, I do not have very big hands. But it too is a magnetic driven liner so it cuts as expected. So if you like machines like the Andis T-outliner it shouldn't be too far off with the exception of again, the size.Now as a package. This is an absolute steal. PLEASE Wahl do not discontinue and vendors please don't jack up the prices! Keep this thing as incredible as it is. The only drawback as a collective, is that the cord can't necessarily get swapped back and forth mindlessly. It does require at the very least, minimal attention. If you're one to just blast through cuts, this may be a bigger setback to you than say, the barber/ stylist that puts a little more time into their cuts. That is of course if you wish to use it in tandem as I believe is the intention of Wahl when they thought of this. Additionally, it comes with all the guards for the clipper and trimmer, and a comb. So if you are familiar with clipper over comb techniques you can cut several types of haircuts, with proficiency, right out of the box. Standing ovation for Wahl. And I hope this isn't the catalyst for triggering an impossibly attainable haircutting machine set.
