Sturdy and Versatile
The media could not be loaded. This clamp arrived in a branded cardboard box inside a branded plastic outer package.I have a few devices from Neewer and I’m always surprised by the quality of their gear given the price. This is no exception. The whole thing is made of metal and feels sturdy. The dimensions are given in the product description so I won’t give them here. The clamp has both ¼” and 3/8” holes with the arm itself using the ¼” one. The clamp opens and closes smoothly and quickly (see video). There are rubber cushions on the jaws to prevent damage to anything you attach the clamp to.There is a large wing nut on the centre joint of the arm and this loosens/locks not only the centre joint but the ball joints at each end. This means the arm can be positioned freely and locked in place with just the one wing nut.I took a risk and used this to mount a video camera onto the handlebars of my motorbike to take a short video and it was rock solid throughout. An added bonus is that the clamp can be used as a free standing holder for lightweight devices (see picture). This is a sturdy, versatile little clamp that has handled everything I’ve thrown at it so far and I think it’s good value for £30 so I’m giving it 5 stars.

Decent but one flaw
The media could not be loaded. This is basically 2 products sold in a kit - The super clamp and a magic arm and can be used individually or as a combo. Great for clamping a monitor to a light stand but the possibilities are endless. The clamp is great. All metal, solid and a nice texturing rubber inside the clamp. The magic arm is OK. The arm itself is solid metal and the locking mechanism is heavy duty. The heads themselves lock into place but do still rotate and that's a bit of a problem because whatever is on the end of the arm can twist. For the avoidance of doubt, I don't mean that it unscrews, I mean that the ball itself twists within the socket. Otherwise it's solid, so it's a shame that let's it down

Useful little mount for so many things from action cameras to tablets
The Neewer super clamp with adjustable arm is a useful accessory for photographers. In this case Super refers to the small size of the clamp it’s about 55mm long and 19.9mm across. The jaws open from 8.5 to 54.5mm though neewer recommend you don’t attach to things bigger than 30mm. The inside of the jaws have a rubber cover; and the front of the jaws is well rounded. The magic arm attaches to the clamp via a ¼” 20 camera thread; this isn’t great as it doesn’t have an interlock; though there is a twist tighten ring you can use to lock it down more. I wouldn’t move your tripod around when it’s mounted to it.Inside the box there were also two adaptors to convert the ¼” thread to 3/8” if you want to attach a small ball head this would allow for that. The arm articulates and locks with a single twist screw; this also allows you to adjust the clamps mounting angle, the cameras mount angle, and the angle between the two arms. The twist screw has a good-sized plastic handle and is easy to tighten. To keep it secure; and help with the 2Kg weight limit, the metal contacts between the two arms have teeth to load things in place. An arm like this is very useful; for mounting small led lights, microphones or monitors to tripod legs – I find them useful when used when I use my tripod arm horizontally rather than vertically as I can mount them offset from the camera. The 2-kilo limit also means I can use it to mount my tablet for photo review when taking photos. When I’m on holiday the clamp can be useful for mounting action cameras in places that adhesive or suction mounts aren’t an option like taking a timelapse from a sun lounger. One thing I’m not a huge fan of is the lack of protection for things I’m clamping to. My existing clamps have insertable plastic teeth which allow you to mount it onto glass or polished surfaces without leaving marks. The super clamp has a rubber surface; but it doesn’t extend to the front of the clamp so be careful what you attach it to. For me the most common things to use clamps on are my own tripod and railings. If you need an extra pair of hands when you are shooting; or just want to take time lapses with an action camera a small clap like this Is very useful. The 2kg weight limit opens a lot of possibilities for the things you hang from it.

Nice handy third hand to have about
The following is a review of the Neewer Super Clamp and ‘Magic Arm’ combo. The clamp is well machined from an engineering point of view that offers a choice of 1/4" and 3/8" thread options with the jaws having internal rubber pads for protection. The arm is 9.8 inches (25cm) long with 1/4" standard screws on either ends that swivel as required, with a quoted max pay load rating of 4.4lb (2kgs). The arm is quite compact when folded - see photo - and means it’s quite a handy size for putting in a camera bag or a pocket in your jacket. You adjust the arm to the required angle and then twist the central ‘wing’ type screw up and that’s it - once tightened up, it is so strong plus being quite rigid. I tried it secured to a light stand - see photo - and it does not budge once tightened up and handy for small lights or flashguns as need required. I must say however I was sceptical beforehand about such items but now I must admit it does do the job well.
