Excellent Docking Station for Laptops and dual monitor
I recently purchased the HP USB-C Dock G5 Docking Station for my HP laptop, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This docking station has completely transformed the way I work, providing seamless connectivity and convenience. First and foremost, the setup process was incredibly straightforward. I simply plugged the docking station into my laptop's USB-C port, and it was ready to use in a matter of seconds. The included cables were of high quality and securely connected my laptop to the dock. One of the standout features of this docking station is its versatility. With a wide range of ports including USB-A, USB-C, DisplayPort, HDMI, and Ethernet, I have everything I need to connect my peripherals and external displays with ease. The ability to connect multiple monitors has significantly boosted my productivity, allowing me to multitask effortlessly. Another aspect that impressed me is the build quality of the docking station. It feels sturdy and well-built, with a sleek and professional design that complements my workspace perfectly. Great Value Product
Upgrading from the HP Elite Gen-1 Docking Station After enjoying three years of dual display bliss with my trusty HP Elite Gen-1 docking station, I encountered a rather unfortunate day when the HDMI port decided to take a vacation. Determined to find a worthy replacement, I considered the Dell D3100, lured by its triple display capabilities. However, something intriguing caught my eye – the HP Gen-5 docking station, priced enticingly at 7200 INR. Curiosity piqued, I took the plunge into the realm of triple displays. Seamless Triple Display Setup Equipped with two FHD Dell P2222H monitors and the occasional rendezvous with a third portable monitor, the HP Gen-5 docking station has proved to be a flawless companion. It does take a few seconds post-login to conjure up the extended screen magic, but I can certainly tolerate such trivial delays. No Display Lag, No Driver Hassles One of the delights of this docking station is the absence of any display lag. It performs its triple display duties with admirable finesse and, to my pleasant surprise, demanded no driver installations. Plug and play at its finest. Cool as a Cucumber Worries about overheating? Fear not! As of now, my trusty HP Gen-5 docking station remains remarkably cool under pressure. While I anticipate upgrading my main monitor to a 4K beauty soon, the two FHD side monitors will continue their duties without a hitch. Stay tuned for updates on this front. An Irresistible Price Point At a price hovering around 8K INR, this docking station is an absolute steal. I even snagged it at a mere 6800 INR during a special offer, complete with an additional 5% discount thanks to my Amazon card. An excellent deal indeed! Adapting to Power Needs It's worth noting that this docking station doesn't come with an Indian plug. However, this is a minor hiccup easily resolved with a simple adapter. Personally, I've seamlessly integrated it into my setup using a Belkin spike guard, connecting the dock, monitors, and laptop with ease. And of course, USB ports aren't idle: I have hooked up my Asus G14 laptop that does get charged through USB-C cable. Another USB-C for charging my mobile. The 4-USB ports are used up for the Logitech MX Master mouse, HP 450 Wireless keyboard, an Elgato Webcam (Full HD, 60Hz, Uncompressed video), and an i-don't-know-the-brand-name Monitor lightbar that works just fine. In conclusion, the HP Gen-5 docking station has not only met but exceeded my expectations as a triple display wonder. With its affordability, stellar performance, and a cool demeanor, it's a formidable choice for anyone seeking a versatile docking solution. Highly recommended!

Good Mst dock but with some caveats!
The dock is very good for the price that I got it for. Good things: - Type c charging works fine. Tested on Surface laptop studio that requires 90W. No warning of low charge state. - On/off switch works fine on my laptop unlike dell docks where switch only works with dell laptops. - Audio chip is detected only when something is plugged into it. Supports only 16bit/48khz. Audio jack is TRRS so supports microphone. - All the usb ports are working as expected. Front type C port can be used for mobile charging. Main attraction is three 4k@60hz display outputs but it will not work on all laptops. On non-hp laptops, it only uses 2 lanes of DisplayPort. So possible configurations are: HBR3 without DSC: Single 4k@30Hz or multiple lower res monitors. HBR3 with DSC: Either two4k@60Hz or three lower res monitors. On M1 macbook, only single monitor possible at max 4k@30Hz. On Hp laptops, there is a setting in bios to enable 4 lane DisplayPort but at the cost of usb3. In this case usb ports will run only in usb2 mode. But you can get three 4k@60Hz with HBR3 DSC. Considering the other hubs/docks available in this price range (around 5k), it is really worth buying.

It is good but not compatible with Asus Latops
With my HP laptop it is working perfectly. With Lenovo 65W PD it is also working. But it is slow charging Asus laptop where the power requirement is 95W, although the supplied adapter with this is of 120W. It charges the laptop with 65W only and shows low speed charging. This problem may happen with non HP laptops, which requires high charging power i.e., more than 65W. Also updated the dock firmware to latest but no help. Other then charging problem, rest ports are working fine.
