Sanyo Eneloop Size D Adaptor

I bought these, somehow having got the impression that each adaptor takes two AA batteries. I'm not where I read this - and nor am I sure whether fitting two AAs in is even physically possible. But only putting one AA indo a D size adaptor feels like a big compromise somehow. For example, I have a 4D LED Maglite - a very hefty piece of kit when loaded up with 4 D-size batteries. Loaded with AAs inside adaptors it's about half the weight and, although I've not used it enough to notice, it surely can't last as long. In some situations the reduced weight may be a good thing, even over mAh capacity; but I wonder if users are going to use AAs anyway, why does the D size exist at all?If you want to cut down on weight, or if you need the long-term energy storage Eneloops provide and/or if you travel a lot with kit that needs size D where only AAs may be available, it's a useful accessory to have.I've given this 4 stars as there's nothing actually wrong with the product - I'm just not entirely sure that it's a substitute for a proper D battery. I would much prefer it if Sanyo were to bring out proper D batteries for their Eneloop range; then I would know that my 4D Maglite is always ready to go and loaded with as much juice as possible.

Absolutely fantastic idea! Size D's are very expensive so this is brilliant cheap alternative. Just stick an AA battery into this adapter and you've got a size D! Even better if it's a rechargeable Eneloop AA battery, and you have solar panels (like me).Obviously don't expect the them to last as long as a real D battery, but a nice cheap alternative. Hopefully one day they might make one that takes a couple of AA's (if they can fit in) and they will perform twice as long.

Great way to save money and expand your existing eneloops!

Great product. Its the best option for devices that USS D batteries. It last as long as niemal D batteries. Energizer D battery have 2200 mAh capacity so it is the same as AA batteries from Eneloop.
