Worked perfectly to remove a bolt that had a sheared off head
Recently I picked up an older 1999 Toyota 4runner from my buddy who had bought it new and finally bought a new car. He didn't want the 4runner any more and just gave it to me. I always like it so I thought this will be fun to bring back to like new shape. Truthfully it was really well maintained by my friend. But he had at some point backed into something and dented the left rear bumper corner. So I picked up a used one off of Ebay that I thought was painted the correct color. Well it arrived and I set it aside to wait until a bit warmer weather to remove and replace the damaged piece. After starting the project I learned the paint didn't match. So the drama began. Ordered pain etc. Prepped and painted the thing. Then guess what that color was wrong. So after a call to the paint place they helped me get the right color and shipped me a new batch. Okay part is painted and I finally get it bolted onto the car. Then I am in the final stretch and as I start to attach the wheel well flare piece that is part of the limited 4runner series on these years, I noticed I could not start one of the three fastener bolts? Upon closer inspection, I discovered the original fastener was still in the threaded hole and the head was broken off. Hells bells, now what? So off the part comes and I order a vice grip and some penetrating oil. Those arrive and the bolt is just stuck like it is welded! Mind you the piece isn't rusted. Well from here I tried a small tap and die set I had to no avail. I finally looked up on Youtube and saw you can use left hand drills to remove bolts with sheared off heads. So this was my last ditch effort before ordering a new part and more paint etc. BTW I am into this little repair for now about $180.00 so I am starting to think I should have just paid my deductible and had the insurance fix the little dent. But then this kit arrived. And I thought here goes nothing. Well shocker! I used the smallest bit first and got a good pilot hole started, then went in with the next larger bit. About 2/3 of the way into the bolt the bit caught and turned the rest of the bolt out of the hole. I was ecstatic! Hooray! This is just a great little set of very affordable bits that is a must have for any tool collection.

It works, it saved me, I’m not a fake review
I had a valve cover blot snap off in my engine block. The ultimate horror. It was well below the surface of the mating surface of the valve cover and so I had no choice but to try to extract it.I saw a few reviews about this product breaking and so I was worried but ordered anyway as it had the highest positive reviews.Well, the kit worked and I got that bolt out. That probably saved me a few grand (shop would’ve charged me a fortune to rescue my engine block).I used a cheap old Harbor Freight Hercules hand drill on its fastest setting with the kit’s smallest left-hand drill bit (about 3mm diameter). I drilled in reverse in 10-second bursts with breaks to ensure that the drill bit didn’t get too hot. I used a mini vac to vacuum up the resulting metal shavings (open engine block ports covered with rags and tape to ensure that nothing got in the engine).Once I got down about half and inch, I semi-gently hammered in the left-hand gripper tool until it bit, and then used an adjustable wrench to slowly turn the broken bolt out, spraying with PB Blaster line as I went. The broken bolt came right out. The whole process took about 30 mins (I went slowly on purpose; because if it went wrong, my engine block would’ve been toast).I am a real human being, not a bot. This product worked for me and it was my first time using. Just use it right and it should get the job done. Saved me a lot of time and money. I hope this review helps someone else out who’s panicking in a bad situation like I was.

It actually works
Nice solid case, and it actually works. We should have some smaller bits though.

With a little time and effort, I saved myself a lot of money
I snapped a bolt off on my outboard motor making my motor inoperable. The bolt controlled the resistance for steering and it was completely seized right meaning I couldn’t turn. I bought this extractor set and was able to successfully drill out and remove the sheered bolt! Some tips: use a regular drill (not impact) in its lowest setting. Once the hole is drilled, use the best fit extractor and tap it into the hole with a hammer to get a good seat. Then use a vice grip to manually back out the bolt/screw. The drill was too much torque and I had slipping problems until I went more manual with it. Worked like a charm once I slowed down

meh product, but got the job done
It took a bit of trial and error but I got this thing to work, once so far. FYI: the "instructions" are rubbish, so if this is your first time using this type of product, look up a video on YouTube before boring anything out. They're basically a Craftsman knockoff/rebrand.

Got the job done easy!
I bought this specifically to remove a broken antenna from my truck. And having a set on hand would be nice bonus.Pros- Comes with extra of the smaller bits that commonly break.- drilled right into the broken bolt with minimal force.- nice case to keep everything tidy.- made removal of the broken bolt easy.- price.Cons- Will update this post when/if I discover one.
