Does this fit a 2012 Hyundai elantra?

I am not familiar with your Hyundai Elantra, but I know that the 3.5" width of this protector was too wide for my Toyota. Hope this helps.

Should this be applied in warmer weather?

I'm not sure why someone else said this stuff sticks well. I put this stuff on in direct afternoon sunlight (see my review below), both before and after, letting it get extremely warm to the touch (on level to a heat gun), and it still has numerous bubbles, creases, and the outer edges are very easy to peel back with the minimal finger pressure / pull. Again, just see my review.
