Made a comparison to MELIFO with many positives
Searching for a curved lightbar for my setup, I found there weren’t many options to choose from. The best options I found were the MELIFO basic light bar and the ONWAY curved light bar. This is because I was looking for a simple light bar that was convenient, gave my setup a fair amount of light, and looked low profile on my monitor without being a distraction. Both lights are priced the exact same at $59.99 when they are not on sale, which is not what I paid to do this review. ONWAY typically puts out a “$10 off” coupon, so I got it for $50. The exact time I purchased the ONWAY, coincidentally, MELIFO started a lightning deal on their lightbars, bringing their BASIC light bar down to $46, so I chose to jump on it and make a comparison.ONWAY Light BarFirst impressions, the light itself felt very heavy and sturdy, even though it is plastic. The material does not deter me at all, especially for the price. The box includes:• Light Bar Unit• Braided, right-angled, USB-C cable• Remote control puck• AAA batteries for the remote• User manual• Small Alan wrench for tightening or loosening the axis joints (for emergency)On top of my monitor, the mounting system is very well thought out. Not only is it heavy to hold the light onto the monitor but the multi axis points allow for compatibility with a wide range of monitor thicknesses. Once setup, this light is not going anywhere, meaning there is no wobble when touching the capacitive points on the front.(Both lights will be plugged in with a different cable that is NOT included with any of the light bars, just FYI)When turned on, the light spreads evenly on my desk, enough to cover my main workspace. The photo I have taken is with the light at max brightness and its warmest setting and it feels very comfortable to me. I am a sucker for warm, cozy lighting and, although it doesn’t feel super warm to what I imagined, it does feel perfect for my workspace. No glare is shown on my monitor and the light doesn’t peek out into my eyes when I’m seated at my desk. The included remote can be used to control every feature this light has to offer. It is very easy to use and adds an extra level on convenience to my workspace. If I chose not to use the remote entirely, I can still use the touch capacitive points on the front of the unit instead. The touch points light up a very dim blue when turned on, which is not distracting, so you can see them when it is dark. When turned off, the point lights turn off and the power light turns red, which is also a nice touch. I tried out the adaptive lighting feature with the light sensor on the top and it works very well, but I don’t use it frequently. It automatically brightens and dims the light bar according to the surrounding light within the room. I also do not have a webcam currently, but there is a lip that sticks up on top of the unit in case if you need a webcam mounted on top as well.MELIFO “BASIC” Light BarFirst impressions, this light bar is LONG! I took a comparison photo of both lightbars next to each other to see the length difference. I love having a longer bar because I figure the light will spread more on the desk (and it just looks cooler). Material is also plastic, and the mount is heavy, but not quite as heavy as the ONWAY.The box includes:• Light bar unit• Non-braided, typical USB-C cable• User manualOn top of my monitor, the mounting system is not the greatest in my opinion. I have read reviews about this light just “sitting on top of the monitor” and couldn’t seem to understand until I saw it for myself. With the design of the weight in the back, it doesn’t pull back enough on the unit to feel secure while using it. It does in fact sit and stay put on top of my monitor, but it does not feel as secure, even when touching the capacitive points on the light. One design difference I did want to point out is that the touch points on this bar seem to be on the front, where the printed indicators are. The listing page and review photos I saw had the touch points as circles on the top of the light. I am not sure if I got an updated model or an older model but that was a bit of a surprise to me, not a problem at all. When turned on, the light spreads out evenly on my desk and gets warm, in light temperature, not heat. There is no glare that I could see on my monitor and no light peeks out into my eyes, which is excellent. I love how the formfactor looks low profile and isn’t distracting in any way. The touch points on the front of the light are responsive but don’t light up, which can be a bit hard to see in a dimly lit room. There are not too many bells and whistles included with this light bar which makes it simple and straightforward, which can be a great thing for some people, maybe not as much for me.One fun comparison point I found was that both lightbars have recessed LEDs which aid in keeping the light away from the user, which is an excellent feature, but the ONWAY light bar has a foggy type of plastic over the lights, where the MELIFO is clear plastic. I do believe that the foggy plastic makes for a softer light, which I like more than the clear plastic. (I’ve included photos for reference)Considering both light bars are priced the same, here is a brief rundown of the features I find.ONWAY Features• Sturdy construction and mounting system• Bright lighting that evenly covers the workspace• Lit up capacitive touch points on the front• Wireless remote for extra convenience• An adaptive brightness feature with the light sensor• A webcam mount• Braided, 90 degree USB-C cableMELIFO Features• Long formfactor for a slightly wider light spread• A simple mounting system that feels loosely mounted• Simple, non-braided USB-C cable• Touch capacitive points on the front (not lit up)Final VerdictAlthough I find that the MELIFO looks a bit cooler with its long light that spreads evenly on my desk, with all the extra features the ONWAY has to offer, I feel the ONWAY is a better option between both products. The mounting system is SOLID, the touch points are easy to see and easy to use, the extra remote is an excellent touch that I use more than I thought I would need to, and the light does not distract me in any way. In fact, my desk looks boring without a light now, so I’ll be using it frequently. I am not saying that the MELIFO is a bad light bar, but if you are really trying to get the best out of the money you spend for your desk setup, I recommend the ONWAY light bar for sure.

Best Desk Light I've Ever Owned
I love this light! I think it is the best addition to my desk setup so far. As someone who has light sensitivity, and is on my computer all day for work then several more hours for school work this light has mad a great deal of difference. The auto dimmer is wonderful. I can leave this on all day and I don't have to think about it. In addition to the auto dimmer tou can choose to make the light brighter, dimmer, warmer, or cooler. It doesn't produce a glare on the screen. Also, I enjoy the ease of use and control with the remote as well as the controls on the actual light. Very happy with the quality for the price. I highly recommend! The monitor it is sitting on is a 34 inch curved monitor. I've had the light for about a month at the time of this review.

Great for people with migraines!
This is my first light "bar," where previously I've always had some circular or square shaped light mounted on top of my monitor pointing around 45 degrees downwards, which would sometimes be shining in my face if the rest of the room was dark. This bar is able to point straight down, which lights up my desk without causing monitor glare and (more importantly) without shining directly in my face when the rest of the room is dark. There's also higher highs and lower lows compared to traditional desk lights. The lowest low is bright enough for me to see all-black objects on my all-black desk but not bright enough to prevent me from going to sleep. The brightest bright is more powerful than a lamp I've had on my desk for a few years. This is the best possible light to get at this price range.

Perfect for Curved Monitors, Webcam-Friendly, & Quality
I got this ONWAY curved monitor light bar as a birthday gift for my boyfriend, and he loves it. He works long hours at his computer and uses a curved monitor with a webcam attached on top. The light bar fits securely on his curved monitor and doesn’t interfere at all with his webcam which can be placed on top of the light bar. The lighting is soft but bright, with adjustable brightness and color temperature. Setup was quick, it looks sleek, and has a good build quality.Highly recommend this if you’re looking for something that works with a curved monitor and a top-mounted webcam.

Good light, but controller needs to be close
The ease of manipulating brightness and color temperature make this a great option for working all hours of the day or night and the wireless controller helps keep the desk uncluttered. I wish they would think of a slightly more stable mounting mechanism but it uses the same one everyone else does. Because of where this goes it would be nice to be able to attach my camera to it but that's hard to do when this relies on weighted balancing. But means my camera has to go way off to the side which isn't a great partial meeting experience. The main downside of this product is the controller can be finicky depending on where it is at and needs to be sitting kind of out with line of sight to the light to work consistently but I often still have to tap it several times before turning the light on or off. If the wireless controller could handle more nuanced locations or this thing was stable enough to support my tiny webcam it would be five stars

Great, no glare at all
Really good quality, feels really solid. The camera mount is nice and the dial is fantastic.I have a thick Alienware 34" curved monitor so o was worried it wouldn't hold well, but it had plenty of adjustability.I was skeptical about it making a glare on my monitor or shooting light right into my eyes, but it works really well. Makes the space feel more productive.
