Brilliant
Simple game. Realistically can be played with a standard deck of cards if you know the rules. You buy this for its beauty. It is a beautifully made game, the artwork makes it worth the money.

Very nice bluffing game
I really like this bluffing game, it's very simple to play and it has really nice design with cards looking like coasters. The bigger the group is, the funnier it gets!

It's Skull, it's simple, it's fun.
Skull is such an easy game to teach and play, the rounds are fast, and it's a perfect way to start a games night or just pass the time when you've got a few minutes to kill. The cards in this box are beautiful: big, sturdy, and covered in gorgeous candy-skull-esque artwork incorporating several different cultural motifs. Even if you don't play it, you could even use them as coasters (a spin on the classic of using beer mats to play Skull in a pub, perhaps?). But you'd probably have much more fun using them as playing tokens!

poor packaging
Please be very careful when opening. It is so easy to damage the cards on its first use as they need to be removed from a cardboard frame. This should have been done by the supplier. I contacted the supplier, but they did not respond to my request for help quickly. In a month, I finally got a replacement. This is a good game, but is over priced. (You could play this with a normal pack of cards and use Aces for skulls.)

You will find out that you can't trust anyone.
If you thought you liked poker for the deception, think again. Poker is numbers and probability and can be worked out by great players. This game just shows you how much you can't trust your friends and family! The legend has it that Hells Angels use this game to choose their new leader one the old one dies. If that is true, it is the perfect game for it.This game is aimed at young adults up (The box has 14+ in the UK or 10+ if you are in France, I think there is some discrimination going on right there!) and can be played by anyone. It's quick and simple to learn to play and once you get the hang of it you can start to twist the knife into the backs of your loved ones! The premise is that you have a point mat, if you turn it twice you win. You have 5 cards, 4 roses and 1 skull. You put the cards down in turn and then when at least one round of everyone laying a card has happened you can vote to call how many roses you can turn over. You start with all your cards then can choose who else to turn over. It's quick and simple, addictive and brutal. The people you think you knew are better liars than you realised! The cards a beautifully printed and solid. It's small and portable and played with a minimum of 3 people. It's better if you can do the full 6 as it adds more to the lying element, but however many you can get to join in, you will have so much fun doing it.For those that don't like board games, it's perfect as there are limited parts, limited rules it lasts 15-20 mins at most (maybe 30 mins with 6) and can be picked up and put down as you fancy. It is inexpensive and there are multiple print runs of this game with lovely imagery. It is also known as Skulls and Roses in some print runs. So I say just go for it. It doesn't take up much space but is first class in replayability.

A beautiful simple bluffing game!
GAMEPLAYSkull is a bluffing game where each player starts off with four circular tokens (similar to coasters in size), three of which are roses and one of which is a skull. Players take it in turn to place one of these cards face down in front of them until (providing everyone has placed one card down) someone bets how many cards they can turn over without revealing a skull. The catch is however, they must start by flipping their own skull first. Subsequent players can then either pass, or raise the bet, until no one else can match it, at which point the highest bidder flips the cards they wish. If they lose however, the person who's skull they turned over picks a random card from their hand and discards it (face down) from play, which of course limits your options, especially if your skull gets discarded! If you lose all your skulls you're out of the game. The winner is the first person to win two rounds. The fact that you have to flip all of your own cards first is the key component of this game and essentially allows for people to essentially trick each other into thinking they are a safe option: A player (knowing they have placed a skull down in front of them) can open with a fairly high bet, luring people into believing they have roses down. This can however backfire, as people may cotton on to their ruse, and refuse to bet, thus causing them to turn over their own skull! Other bluffing techniques, such as pausing when considering whether to bet higher (even if you know full well you have a skull placed in front of you) or taking ages to decide a card (even if you have all roses remaining) can also throw people and add to this simple but clever game.REVIEWThe strong point of skull is its simple concept which still allows for quite tactical gameplay. It is very easy to teach and satisfying for newcomers to play as they quickly come to grips with and learn the common tactics this game involves. The artwork on the pieces is very pretty (see photos attached) with each set of cards boasting a different intricate design and colour scheme. However don't let this put you off as the game is really fun to play, containing a good mix of tension, excitement and of course satisfaction involved with betting increasingly higher and somehow managing to pull it off, or telling a convincing lie and managing to trick one of your components...Pros:# Lovely artwork with each set of roses and skulls having their own design.# Simple concept which is very easy to teach, yet still allows for intricate tactics.# Small and portable.Cons:# The print is not very durable, and wears away after a few uses.
