updating this review. 5 stars for customer service!! despite being beyond the stated support period, the seller contacted me and offered to work with me to solve the problem. TBH, this is the first time I've had direct contact after a review with such quick response to resolve a problem and I am incredibly impressed. I will seek this vendor in the future. Unfortunately, the battery did fail after 5 months of normal use. easy to install and worked great while it lasted.

My Dyson was just not performing as it used to. After researching, I found out the battery might be the problem, which I never even realized had to be replaced. Got this one and vacuum is as good as new again. Easy to install, no problems. Great purchase and great price. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately I did not know soon enough that the new battery I ordered was defective. This is how it went, I installed the new battery; my dyson would not turn on. So, next step, I ordered a new charger; still did not work. Lastly, as I could afford it I ordered a new motor. Much to my dismay, I have spent quite a bit of money to rebuild a new Dyson V8 cordless model and it still doesn't work. I finally called Dyson company to see if they could give me any idea of what my problem is, they said one of two things: either a faulty battery charger or a defective battery. I've waited too long to return the battery unfortunately, I out a lot of money and still do not have a Dyson V8 that does not work.

My battery was only allowing me about 10 minutes of cleaning a charge. I have other but they are clunky. I finally broke down and bought this and a game changer. My floors look amazing again and much cleaner. Also it came with new filters. Like brand new again

Update:The custom services folks did send me a replacement battery. The second one does not seems to have the same charging issue. That being said, the bolt on the back is still not aligned as well as the original build, and the connectivity to the original charging docker is still very tight. But those are minor concerns in actual using the vacuum.Buyer beware, will updated once got more informationJust got this battery recently and tried it. The battery itself does seems to function, and the installation itself is detailed and simple.That being said, it does seems like the battery holes doesn't align perfectly.And while trying to using my original Dyson v8 charger, this battery either does not charge(with no inidication) at allor if I push the charging jack into the port, it blink blue light instead of the usual charging light like v8.It also fits every tight to the original v8 charging port.

I bought this to replace my old battery that didn't really take a charge anymore. It works great. I can now vacuum my entire house with one charge. I will say it sticks a little when pulling vacuum head from wall mount and it stays on for a second after I've released the trigger but other than those 2 very small issues it does its job. And I happy very happy.

This battery is garbage. I received it, installed it into the Dyson V8 and placed it on the charger overnight. The next day went to use it and it doesn't work. Placed it on the charger and it still shows that it is discharged. I assume that it is something with the internal BMS board as it doesn't operate as it should. The only reason that I was replacing the battery is because one of the mounting screw locations on mine was broken probably from removing and placing the vacuum on the storage/charger dock. I put the old battery back on and the vacuum works again. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this one as it is garbage.
