A Timeless Effort
As suggested, this is the eleventh book in the Event Group series. The books vary greatly in quality. The first novel, Event, began a story arc that concludes in Overlord, with the death of many of the characters. This book picks up a new arc,and it is quite well written. I started it one day and finished it the next. The book starts with the 'discovery' of time travel. The author uses Einstein's theories to postulate a mechanism for such travel (ok, that part's not well thought-through), which was designed in Nazi Germany. Eventually, we're led to believe that one of the test subjects, a gypsy designated 'the traveler' managed the trip and get's stuck two years in the past (from 1943). In Overlord, one of the best characters was lost in time, and the group tries to find a way to get him from wherever he is in time. This novel explores how the group makes the attempt to obtain the technology necessary to make the effort, what happens when the Russian Mob interferes, and how time paradox might be resolved. It's all done in a very fast paced (some might say haphazard) writing style. Get through the first couple chapters and you'll be hooked.

Twists and turns keep you reading!
This an Even Thriller book in the series. It is chock full of adventure as the Event Group attempts to see if they can use a Word War II contraption in order to go back in time to get their beloved officer back from distant Antarctica in the past. This book has enough twists and turns in it, it will keep you reading until the end.

Interesting adventure
It took a while, like about 280 pages, to get Golemon's adventure really moving, but the remaining story left us begging for his net one. Mr. Golemon does get a bit carried away with unnecessary or lengthy technical details -- probably needed another 100 pages to make it a full volume novel. He should maybe read a few DeMille books to also learn how to refer back to other books of instances without the obvious distraction of doing so. Thus, I had to dock him a star for an otherwise very interesting story and adventure. I love his characters, and, yes, Ryan gets injured again -- not giving away anything here! The book utilizes same format as previous Event books, i.e., starts with some event in past, the discovery of it, the issuance of an Event, and the operation and secrecy of the Event itself. This made it easy to skip over details without losing the story.

Poor Scientific Understanding + Lack of an Editor + Lazy Writing = Disapointment
I'm a fan of Goleman's books, but the last couple have really been a let down. Yes it's science fiction, but there should be some actual SCIENCE in it. Other writers like James Rollins or even Matthew Reilly craft similar genre stories, but they give their work at least SOME scientific credibility. Things really started to fall apart in the last book with the hundred million year old space ships which somehow still worked fine and things have only gotten worse here.As the description notes, this book is about time travel. Great! Now Golemon establishes the rules for how time travel works in this universe. He establishes a very Stargateish mechanism for time travel with some rules about how the gates must connect. Fine! Makes sense. But then he totally throws that away and the gate concept goes out the window. And if the gates are no longer needed, why was the source gate in the present even needed anymore? If you like science fiction and adventure based on actual science, then this book will drive you batty. The worst part is when he describes lasers as traveling faster than light. Huh?!?!?With a great book you breeze through it and you're excited to read more. This just felt like a slog that i HAD to finish, but was a bit tortuous. Many of the descriptions and conversations go on for way too long. Some generous editing would have made the book flow much much better. The actual descriptive writing is really rather basic (things are constantly traveling "at the speed of light" and as noted above, sometimes exceed it). This book was just disappointing. I know Golemon can do better. He HAS in the past. The characters are good. The new characters are good. The general story idea was pretty decent. But it was just executed in such a poor way that the whole book ended up being a let down.If you're a Golemon fan and are invested in these characters and the series, then of course you should read this to find out what happens next. But I really hope for the next installment Golemon can up his game, bring in a decent editor and perhaps someone to help with the actual SCIENCE so he can bring some believability back into his writing.

This One Has It All!
One of his latest adventures, The Traveler: An Event Group Thriller, has it all. The story begins in Germany during WWII but before long we're taken on a roller coaster ride. Want Russia mobsters and Italian mafia? They're along for the ride. How about a trip to another continent--not in modern ages, but back over 200,000 years? One of the Event Group's people made such a journey and others are heading back to find him. How is this possible? A time machine, created in Germany, perfected, and now in the U.S.I've enjoyed every one of Mr. Golemon's novels and can't wait for another thrilling adventure. Well done!

This book is nonstop action with twist and turns. You love it.
I like this particular author. His stories are wonderful. I wonder how he comes up with these ideas. Makes on think about what is really out there in space.

Wrapped alien war up nicely
A fine wrap up to the alien part of the saga. The proof reading was much better on this book than what I usually expect out of Golemon. There are new characters to replace some of the people lost in the war. That's to be expected. Two are from previous books, one is new.I will read the next book in the series. I really like Golemon's writing. In my opinion, the books should be read in order.

Time travel is possible
A great story showcasing the usual cast and new members enlisted to replace those who died fighting the greys. They travel back in time to rescue Carl, along the way they clash with vicious Russian mobsters and intelligent velociraptors.

Entertaining
I like stories about time travel and this was a good one, especially when the good guys achieve their mission. The whole concept of it was good as well, going back to the Nazi's and Wellsian concept and the traveller trying to bring her brother back. In all a good Sci-fi story.

Excellent reading.
The Event Group really rocks, the best yet. I could not put this book down until the end, David Golemon has produced another masterpiece. So sad that Foghorn Leghorn didn't make it, looking forward to the next Event Group thriller. Excellent.
