We can not answer why other people are mentioning `flow restrictors`, you would need to ask them.

The product details we have from Ideal Standard direct is below:

100mm wide spray plate.

I've just  ordered new replacement M3 and want to remove the flow restrictor from my existing M3 shower head. Can someone enlighten me please

removing the flow restrictor will increase the flow, i always remove all flow restrictors from all shower parts.

does this shower head fit onto trevi hose E4755AA

Don't know if trevi hose E4755AA is a standard shower hose. If it is then it will fit. You might note however that I cannot recommend Ideal Standard Idealrain unless you have quite a good water pressure - see my review for Tre Mercati Millenium Low Pressure Handset 27 February 2015  -  Highly recommend. I replaced my old Trevi handset (dropped once too often) with Ideal Standard Idealrain - poor result, big name, very disappointing! (and yes I did remove the flow regulator ring) After scouring Amazon reviews and shower sites (good data on performance curiously absent) I plumped for this Tre Mercati Millenium Low Pressure Handset - miles better than the Ideal Standard, up to performance of the old Trevi model. Surely, manufacturers can/should do better?!Hope that helps. Yes easily removed, I'm afraid I can't recall exactly how except that it was very straightforward. Unfortunately, did not make a whole lot of difference - as per my review (Tone) of Tre Mercati Millenium Low Pressure Handset 27 February 2015
