Dodge and snarl/bark at the angry human was her favorite game. E-collars save lives.
Now my unruly puppy knows off the leash does not mean out of reach. Shattered her whole reality when she realized I could still touch her when she was running rampant or obnoxiously snapping and barking at me while dodging my hands trying to stop her. Suddenly she couldn't get away with being a jerk. I can almost walk her off leash now. I'm a believer. E-collars save lives. It's not abuse, it's being responsible and keeping your dog safe. And with this collar the settings can be very subtle. If she started getting out of hand at the dog park this shuts down that behavior before she sets off the wrong dog and possibly gets herself killed. My aunt has personally witnessed the tragic results of this. She's seen dogs mauled and even killed because the wrong button was pushed. Not to mention if your dog yanks the leash out of your hand and chases something across roads. My property is very long and narrow. Only 25 feet wide, but 200 feet long. We have neighbors next to our house on one end of the property and another set of neighbors on either side of the back fence. So she'll be 150 feet away at the back fence crazy barking right next to those neighbors houses at the back of the property and us screaming at her to stop barking and come back inside at 11pm from the back deck at the front of the property just isn't fair to the infant sleeping 20 feet away in the next house. I use vibrate mostly for the barking. Just a little vibration and she doesn't like the feel of it. I use the continuous setting so it repeatedly buzzes until I let go. The zap is kept very low to just get her attention, level 5 out of 100, but in situations like again the dog park I'll crank it up so no matter what happens, no matter how distracted, she won't be able to ignore it and will break off of a potentially dangerous situation. She's not aggressive, but she's a button pusher and one day she might take it too far with the wrong dog.

Great training tool
This was a game changer for training my dog. I had a shock collar but I met a trainer who recommended this unit. The shock collar I had really hurt my pup. This training collar really allows ease of use with multiple settings. It’s a tens unit not a shock collar. Takes a video to learn how to set and use it. I would also recommend watching videos of trainers using them. You don’t want to set the unit to high or to low. To high is counter productive. After learning how to use it properly a really taking the time how to utilize it. I realized my dog didn’t freak out in pain like my cheap shock collar was doing. It allowed me to use it as a tool. It helped create faster positive results while training. Lets say the results were beyond expectation when done consistent. I took a well behaved slightly trained dog to the next level. I’m constantly being asked who trained him due to his level of behavior and attention. I would highly recommend this unit if you are looking to train your dog to the next level.

Greate electric collar
I’ve been using it for two years now. Excellent product, durable, reliable, and performs exactly as it should. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

Quality
Best e-collar, east to use and really helps with training. Love that it has built in light and have options to use vibration and beep noise not just the shock. We use the beep more than anything and the light!

Broken at 6 weeks
Buyer beware! This e-collar failed at about 6 weeks. I have had crummy customer support from the manufacturer, and was 2 weeks too late to get help from Amazon. Honestly? Even if I had bought directly from the manufacturer, I think their goal is to run you around instead of doing what they can to resolve the situation. I reached out to customer support via email but because I bought from Amazon they told me to call, so I then called. They replaced the receiver which was not the part that was malfunctioning. I had told them this. The transmitter needed to be replaced. I also had told them that the the clasp that attaches to the transmitter broke off too. They forgot to send the replacement clasp. So when the wrong part was sent, I didn't have the clasp to carry it. Ends up that didn't matter because the leash still didn't work. I had to call again to tell them they sent the wrong part , and received a snotty attitude. I was now being told it was my fault the collar failed because I had charged it for more than two hours ( charged on a quality surge protector) When I pointed out that the owners manual did not mention limitations on how long it be charged nor that the warranty would be voided if I charged it more than two hours, I received a snotty attitude, yet agreement that they would send me a replacement system with a working clasp and lanyard too. If that didn't work, they would refund me. Guess what? The new replacement receiver and transmitter didn't work either!!! So, I had to call again, I mentioned the promise I'd receive a full refund if the collar still was not working. I was told that would have to be approved by the manager who would not be in the office for 4 days. So, I called 4 days later, and then was denied the refund. Finally, I have asked others I see with the same collar, if they were having problems, they tell me, they do, and that they usually replace with a lower cost collar that is as reliable) I had a Dogtra e-collar for 13 years. It outlived my dog and was then given to a dog rescue. I was surprised that for the same price, I'd receive such junk! My dog trainer had asked I use this brand collar which is why I purchased this. After this horrible experience, I made sure to tell my trainer what happened. It looks my trainer is fine with Dogtra brand e collars. My trainer went as far as checking the replacement and confirmed it was not working I have now had the Dogtra for months now without any issues. You can see the difference in quality right out of the box. One final complaint, I am not only out 200 bucks for this subpar product, I'm out another 40 bucks for an adapter collar attachement for dogs with thick hair. I'd like to think if I had bought directly from the manufacturer I'd receive more support, but based on how they treated me, I'd guess that's not likely either

Successful Tool
This was recommended by our dog trainer. I was hesitant at first but it has been a very good investment in trng our dog. Our trainer is well versed in its use and how to properly use it. Her techniques for instructing/teaching with this as a tool have been very successful. Our trainers methods have made all the difference in success or failure with the collar. I think a trainers qualifications are a key component to feeling comfortable with the collar as a tool. As far as battery life, recharging, we have had no issues. It has worked well for our needs.

It works when it works
Within a month one of the charging prong’s corroded. The collar is great but only lasts about 6 hours and frequently disconnects from my the handheld device. Now charging then separate can be cumbersome.

E-collar for dog training
Good training collar. Excellent range. Thinking about getting. second collar for second dog. There is a learning curve but it is not too difficult. Just need to practice with it. I have a german shepherd. Wish the instructions were a bit more detailed.
