Royal road to card magic is half the price with 3-4 times as much information.

I love it because it Harry describes the techniques that worked best for him. It's geared toward beginners, so the methods he chooses to teach are simple enough for total beginners (like me) to learn to do well. The card tricks are all done with a normal deck, no modifications needed and no trick decks. You'll learn to control card position to make the tricks work, as well as how to perform the tricks and what to say to direct the audience's attention where you want it - or from where you don't want it. I did, very occasionally, find it difficult to follow along with what he described. There are plenty of diagrams and detailed descriptions, but it was still occasionally hard to really grasp the procedure. But then I just searched YouTube for the name of the sleight he was describing and, after watching someone do it, things clicked much faster.
