After reading up on water hammer, I bought this item as a shock arrestor is what is meant to remove the problem.It's not really something you can do yourself unless you have good strength and the tools to do it. I had a plumber do mine. Unfortunately, it has made no difference whatsoever to the water hammer. I even went so far as to add a device to each tap but it still made no difference.So as far as value for money is concerned, it was a complete waste for me.
