The Beginner's Guide to DaVinci Resolve 18

Great book and once you purchase it, you get access to much of their in line stuff.

Great book to help you learn DaVinci. I followed along with very few hiccups (that is what google is for). It makes editing video easy now. There are step by step instructions and no hidden costs. Would highly recommend.

This book is necessary for those who start using such a complex software. It is a logical and clear written introduction to DaVinci Resolve. I would prefer to read it as a general explanation on how to use this software instead of making a continuous reference to a specific set of clips.

Great book, more detail one on one explanation and easy to follow

This guide is designed so well, it even creates errors for you to fix from the file importing to the actual reels you cut up, it's very clever and effective. I switched from Adobe Premiere to Davinci and will NEVER look back. I would suggest buying the program with the Speed Editor package to get the best value.

EVERY CHAPTER YOU DO AN ONLINE TUTORIAL (APPROX. 12 HOURS WORTH). IT IS NOT A PICK UP AND USE KIND OF BOOK.

I just started to use the book and already I noticed many items have moved around, so the book is not update for Resolve 18.5. Plus, you can get the book for free as a pdf if you go to the Davinci Resolve website and go to TRAINING. There is much more at the training site.As of June 1st 2023, even Youtube tutorials are not up to date. So you have to do a lot searching on your own.

I have a lot of work ahead of me but seems to be well worth it. Between the books and online videos its been fun

This book was a gift to help my husband who puts together short films for a brass band we play in. Not trained in video editing there was only so much he could do using the programme intuitively. The book works through a series of lessons on how to achieve the desired results adding in the terminology and functionality of the programme a step at a time. I thought it would be a book he dipped into as required, but it engaged him from the first page and he has worked through it lesson by lesson and found it really very informative.

If you are thinking of moving from a different editor to DaVinci Resolve 18 then this book is a good starting point to get a quick overview of all the areas of the editor. I got this to see if it would help me get a my head around DR as I wanted to move away from Adobe's video editing software. I got through the book within a week and I then got the individual books for each area of the software. Get the Kindle version if you can as, at the time, they were all under £5 each.
