One of the best plots
What I love about this book is its intricate plot. The book is detailed and well thought of. A plenty of suspense and actions that keep the reader tuned in.The book doesn't turn itself into a cheesy romance novel with soft-porn baits to try to mitigate for its lack of substance. It stays true to the theme of the book and flourishes it with the author's extensive knowledge (research) on modern warfare. This is probably one of the most intense books I've read. I highly highly recommend it.

Command and Control
This is a great story but moves at a slow speed in order to build up the story. I hope book number 2 has more action now that we know who the real bad guys are.

Terrific, but not the whole story!
Though formulaic and full of stereotypes and cliches, this book nevertheless has a plot that drives forward effectively enough that you soon manage to overlook all the copycatting going on. That's saying something. The book gets better in all respects as it proceeds, so I hope the author is hitting their stride. Beware, though, that the reader is left with only part of the unfolding plot presented, as in many respects the book just ends partway through the tale it is supposed to tell. This break is poorly and gracelessly executed, as plenty of book series manage to deliver a full story even as they are developing an overarching tale. This is just a chunk. Read all or none would be my advice.

Pretty good 1st book
A little slow in places. Some of it is predictable. The dialog is OK and the character development is OK. Lacks the bite of Clancy and the technical depth of Larry Bond. I will read the 2nd one.

A very interesting book to read.
You are taken on a journey where war was good to these people for control and more. The USA was in a strange way because of some deadly trouble problems happens , know they have to figure things out. The author did a good job with the book , made worthwhile to read.

I was thinking that it would be an action war book.
It had some real great ideas and there were short bursts of action. Good plot twists. Got lost every couple of chapters. It was a chore to finish it. Really sorry that I was disappointed. If there is another book, I won't read it. I do wish the author good luck.

No plan survives first contact
I’ve just had the pleasure of reading the first book in the Command and Control Series, and I am very impressed. Having served on a Naval Warship for four years during the Viet Nam conflict, I remember well both the bridge and Combat Information Center duties. The scenarios were quite realistic, with orders and responses that matched. This author is obviously on his way to fame and fortune, and I hope he keeps writing.

Great series
This is the 1st of 5 novels - you don't have to read them in order, but one book does follow into the next - story is excellent on how a battle with China over Taiwan could happen. The Chinese think long-term, and planning on the takeover could happen quickly or very slowly, depending on their planning. They want the whole world, not just mainland China.

A good technical novel
This is an easy read, fast paced and fun with an actual plot which is very enjoyable and offers good tension and which throws in some major reveals and twists. What I particularly like is the technicality of the book, if it was Sci-Fi it would be called "hard" Sci-Fi, I don't know what the equivalent is for war fighting fiction but this is it.The author introduces the reader to a weapons system and gives a run down of it's capabilities and typical use case before it's fired - lovely geeky stuff. How realistic it is I can't say having never served but it certainly convinced me.

In-depth knowledge abouts naval operations
At times dragging,at times interesting this is an engrossing read about the cat and mouse tactics summing up superpower rivalry with All its vulnerabilities.

Brilliant and unsettling
Considerable command and control by these authors as a lone covert operative carries out the orders of The Minister. Those orders create global mayhem starting in Venezuela where the US President has ordered a substantial military incursion to overthrow it's despotic government and restore democracy. But that is only the beginning as the operative carries out each mission given to him, resulting in attack after attack on the US military stretching the US, especially it's navy, to the limit globally. The Russian Federation appears to be behind this but it's President and his advisers are baffled, it's President suspecting a coup from within. As each superpower gears up for war, possibly WWIII, an American adviser to the US government and his small team seek the answer through cyber warfare whilst it's action stations for US naval commanders, their battle fleets and their ships around the world. A highly detailed novel, with excellent action sequences, presents the story through the eyes, thoughts and actions of its principal characters on the ground and on and under the world's oceans, building to a fine climax and a surprising answer that leads to a last minute stand down. I loved it.
