Best 10W Handheld Radio I Bought!
I’ve had it for the last few months, and it’s amazing!Range - better than I expected! Could reach the repeaters that are further than me much better!Value for money - Most definitely! Even if they have deals on this or it may be the cheapest 10watt radio, this is the best choice.Sound quality - Much more clear then most if my other radios. I can hear people much clearly and the mic words just as well, people had no complaints yet so it’s a good indicator!Functionality - can be confusing at the start but once you get used to it, it’ll be a piece of cake! The functionality is pretty much similar if not the same as the TD-H3 so if you know how to use that radio, then you’ll basically be covered! The radio also has an alarm function.Durability - Amazing! Dropped it a few times and all that happened was a few scratches and that’s it. Radio still works perfect.Size - Slightly bigger then the TD-H3.

Excellent field radio
Excellent durable radio. I use it daily on railroad operations, rain or shine. 10 watt output makes point to point communication at 2 plus miles very doable.

Overall, it is a nice radio for the price.
I really like the way this radio feels in my hand. It works pretty well at 2m and 70cm as I have no problem hitting the local repeaters and the battery life is better than expected. I really like the bluetooth programming capability via my cellphone. My biggest complaint about this radio is that the FM Broadcast Radio reception is not very good. Compared to my Tidradio GM-5R (which is basically a GMRS specific rebranded Baofeng UV-5R) it won't receive some local radio stations. I may be one of the few people that actually use this FM radio feature, but I enjoy having an FM radio playing when I'm working outside so I find myself wanting to use this feature a lot, but on my H8 it doesn't work very well.

I love it despite the fact that I have no idea how to use it
I bought this as part of a roadtrip/prepper kit and I’m really impressed with the quality, especially for the price. As mentioned in the title, I’m HAM illiterate - but I know enough to not key up without a license. I read that during emergencies the licensing requirement isn’t enforced - so now it sits next to my CB inside the go bag. Better to have it and not need it, right? P

Perfect for the beginner or anyone that wants something a bit nicer than the UV-5R.
This is a great radio. I bought 2 of them because I liked them so much. I use 1 as a gmrs and the other with the ham frequencies. The first 1 I bought was a 1st gen that had been updated with new firmware. It was the first radio I used when I got my ham license a few weeks ago. I put a base station antenna on my roof and used that while I was waiting for my mobile radio to come in. I live on top of a hill and there are sort of rolling hills all around me, and I was hitting a repeater about 60 miles away on another hill. I was very surprised because it was the first time I had ever used ham radio so I wasn't sure what to expect. I just happened to live in a good spot. The radio though did very well even when I was out and about. The programming was very easy if you have ever used chirp before or it has bluetooth for mobile app wireless programming too. I wasn't crazy about the app or the social media aspect they were trying to accomplish but it is handy to be able to program it on the fly without using the keypad but the greatest feature about the app was that it can look up and automatically program your local repeaters. Anyways the first 1 impressed me so I bought the 2nd gen version when they went up for sale. It does just as well as the first with the base antenna so it is now my gmrs radio for when I travel or need to stay in touch with family members. The customer service from the manufacturer has been superb as well. I had noticed that I had bought the 1st gen just a week and a half before the 2nd gen went on sale so I told them about it and they are sending me a free 2nd gen battery that had the usb c charging added to it. They answered questions I had about the radios too very professionally and quickly and from my understanding from reading and watching the media about the development of this model of radio, Tidradio really went out of their way to listen to feedback about them from users and the ham tech media to make the best radio they could.

Not impressed.
Returned next day. Expected the same quality as the smaller model. Couldn't even hit repeaters that my Baofengs, Radtels, and TYT hit full quieting with no issues. Might have been a bad example, but not taking another chance. I really wanted the Bluetooth programming capability when traveling.
