Become A Well-Rounded Range Rover!
I am a range rover! I freely admit it. As a responsible gun owner and shooter, I want to know about the ammunition that is being fired, what it is capable of doing, and what it is actually doing at a specific distance. As it states in the book, "If you never take a shot beyond 100 yards or so, you can skip this section." A statement that, I feel, is misleading. Whether you are a long range shooter with your favorite rifle or work primarily with a handgun, the data contained in this book is invaluable. If you don't understand momentum vs. energy, MER and MEPBR, this book will help you gain an understanding. If you don't know what the Taylor Knock Out (KO) Index is, this book will enlighten and inform. All rifle cartridge data is given out to 1,000 yards with a 200 yard zero; whereas, handgun cartridge data is provided out to 200 yards.Ever wonder how the Winchester 180-grain Partition Gold .357 magnum round would perform out of a 20-inch barrel or a 4-inch barrel? How would the Remington 240-grain .44 magnum SJHP that you shoot from your Super Blackhawk perform out of a 20-inch rifle barrel? This book has the answer for you.Do you have questions about ammunition that you have at hand? This book may answer those questions. Perhaps you are shopping for a specific brand or type of ammunition. You can see the stats before you decide to invest in that ammunition. Is the 230-grain Remington Golden Sabre ballistics better than the Federal 230-grain Hydra-Shoc JHP? See what the Taylor KO Index is for both. You might be surprised. In addition to rifle and handgun cartridges, you will be interested in the rim-fire cartridge section and if you are really a "no Pain - No Gain" classification of shooter, information regarding the .700 Nitro Express is at your fingertips. Need a good "Hog" round in .308? Do the research, buy the ammunition, and take your chances!I have found the Ammo & Ballistic 5 book a good read and reference, with the exception of absolutely no data on the Russian 7.62x54R cartridge for my Mosin-Nagant M91/30. However, there is plenty of data on the 7.62x39 Russian, from various manufactures, for your SKS or AK.If you have a fascination for things ballistics, as I do, this is a book that will keep you up into the wee hours of the morning plotting ballistic curves for your favorite hunting, target, or defense load.

Excellent book. Saves you lots of time in picking ...
Excellent book. Saves you lots of time in picking specific ammo for your weapon that will suit your need instead of looking up many different manufacturers online and sifting through all the data. This lets me zoom in on the most accurate rounds to use at 1,000 yards very quickly and gives you the facts on the velocity and energy at all ranges to 1000 yards. Very good material.

great detail within the book.
Great book.Do wish they had reloading / hand loading data to go with it.... but you can get that from the manufacturers.
