Protec Standard Sheet Music Folder with Elastic Band Closure, Model F2E, Black

Yeah you can put music in it. I do. But you can also put other types of paperwork in it. Whatever. It has two diagonally-oriented elastic straps to keep it shut so your papers don't go all over the floor. I LOVE those. They work great. It is black but not shiny like typical vinyl, so it's good for concert use. It's thick and sturdy and not likely to fall apart as easily as some of the folders I've owned.Little story for you:I've had this for a few months now, and have been using it for routine sheet music storage. Back and forth from home to rehearsal. Nothing fancy. A few days ago though, I took a nasty fall. I had my instrument and this folder in one hand and a backpack in the other, so there was no way of stopping myself from hitting the ground hard. I tried to toss the stuff on my way down and get that arm under myself but wasn't fast enough. Even so, I let the folder and instrument go from about two feet; they flew a good six or seven feet before hitting the rocky ground and sliding another foot or so. The instrument (in its case) landed on top of the folder. When I got up and collected everything, nothing except me was broken. Just muddy. A wet paper towel took care of that, and this folder is still looking like it's brand new. It even stayed shut and kept my music from flying all over the field. It is a trooper.UPDATE: I've had this for just over a year now and I've been using it for two bands. It's been stuffed to the gills with sheet music to the point where it's almost too heavy for my cheap old music stand, and I open/close it daily. It still looks brand new, and the elastic bands are still in perfect shape. They haven't frayed or snapped yet. I still think this was a great buy.

My daughter uses this folder to hold and carry her flute music. It fits many sheets of music along with different music books. It's very sturdy and has held up great so far.

Nice quality. Overall a generous 13-7/8"H x 11-1/2"W when empty. Each pocket can hold up to 1" thick stack when folio is open, but spine is not really designed to hold that much when closed. In other words, the flexible part of the spine is only about 1-1/2"W so trying to close with pockets fully loaded causes the front/back covers to bend. (I assume they are "stiffened" with just a piece of cardboard). Straps are nice and tight (at least when new), for keeping loaded folio closed.

This folder is worth the purchase to protect your originals or sheet music your working on. The pencil holder was a little plus, although I had to slice the stitching at bottom of it to make my pencil go through. The straps work great, but mine snapped recently. I think this is more user error, so don’t pull too hard to close the straps.

After my son's sheet music recently fell out of his tote bag straight into a puddle, I realized he needed a better system for bringing his music to and from lessons. This folder is perfect! It easily fits his trumpet book, composition book, and sheet music with room to spare. The pencil holder is a great touch too. The quality is much better than expected (not sure what I expected but this falls firmly into the "fancy" category, haha) and the elastics are thick and sturdy. I loved it so much I immediately bought a second one for my daughter.

Got this for my teenager on band. Easy to use and take everywhere. Keeps his music from being a ripped mess at the bottom of a backpack.

I bought my son this last Christmas and it has been a life saver. He has tons of music and etude books crammed into it and he says he can fit more yet. He is active in 3 different music groups and lessons too, all the music fits great. I am getting him another one this Christmas for him to take with him on college auditions. Looks very professional, always have a pencil with you and it has slid around the cargo area of his car for over a year and still looks great!

Honestly, I feel like this product is a little useless… I feel like the price for this is way to high and any 3 ring binder with sheet protectors will serve the same purpose + it’ll be way more organized, I still kept it and use it as an everyday folder for papers since of it’s incredible durability but it no longer serves the purpose to hold music for me.
