Anything Nancy Guthrie writes is great, and this does not disappoint.

I completed this study I Hebrews several years ago in a small bible study. I just completed it again it again with a different small group. I have again found it very enlightening and encouraging amidst new and different struggles and challenges in my life.

This was my first encounter with Nancy Guthrie. I loved the way she shared her personal experience in a relevant way. Knowing her struggles makes her teaching and advice more credible.The study was neither too simple and surfacy for those looking for real meat, nor too scholarly for those who may be newer to Bible study. It truly meets each Christian where she is.I went through this study with one friend, and we both found it inspiring and instructive. Guthrie's teaching on Hebrews challenges the reader to hope for something better -- a better and deeper relationship with God. What's amazing is that she does this in a way that is encouraging, but not defeating, which is often the case when we realize how we fall short of God's best for us.Highly recommended.

We have been using this book since October as part of the Titus II ministry at our church and it has been such a blessing. I would highly recommed it to anyone who is struggling with their walk with Jesus. Much like the Christians that the letter was written to, we all go through periods in our life where we question or have doubts about our faith. Hebrews is a reminder to persevere and hold fast to our confession, to continually press forward toward the time when Jesus comes back. Nancy Guthrie has a nice way of writing about the text of Hebrews that makes it easy to understand. Do yourself a favor and pick up this book and study the book of Hebrews, you will be blessed beyond measure.

We used Nancy Guthrie's book, 'Hoping for something better' - a study on the book of Hebrews - in my Ladies Sunday School Class. Hebrews is not your usual layman's choice for study being an exergetical book on the person of Christ. Many of the ladies have been Christians for years, yet they all agreed that this is one of the best-most thought provoking and encouraging books they have ever read. Our classes have been wonderful. So much that we are now led to use it with our large Ladies' Bible Study. Exciting to see all that God has for us out of Hebrews.
