great for standby power measurements
My last meter only read to an accuracy of 1 watt. These are higher precision so I can tell more accurately how much it costs me to leave a unit on standby. The display is easy to use and very clear. A big improvement on my last meter.

Gives useful information
This Electric Usage Monitor is a simple enough tool for finding out just how much electricity a particular appliance is using. It can be particularly useful for seeing how much an item on 'standby' can leach.Setting up is not difficult with just a few button presses to input the rate your energy company is charging for a unit of energy. There are 7 modes to this device, all listed above in the advert, with perhaps the most pertinent one being (in these days of astronomical energy prices) the actual cost of the power used on a device over a period of time.It fits well on a double socket and does not impair access to any switches. The display is uncluttered and very readable although if looked at from an angle it does become more difficult to read - a backlight might have helped in this respect.I assume this device is accurate. I do have a similar device from another brand that gives pretty similar readings, so I am happy with the read out this unit provides. There is a memory to this device which holds on to any settings while a socket is turned off, although how long this lasts I am not sure as up to now my device has been in constant use. It keeps the input cost per unit, time a particular appliance has been in use and such data, but not 'on the fly' data like current voltage.Likes:Not too large and does not overly obscure socket switchesLarge, clear displayEasy to use buttonsEasy to set upGood set of information availableDevice has a basic memory functionDislikes:None, other than there is no display backlight

Works Well
This seems to be quite accurate as the wattage displayed is close to what the appliance should be using. I have used another meter which wasn't very close to what it should be. It's easy enough to use and setup, the only thing really to setup is setting the tariff. There are over options such as setting an alarm for cost and overload, but I haven't needed to use these so my set up was simple. It also comes with a small plastic tool for pressing the reset button which is handy. It doesn't have a backlight which isn't a problem for me, but some people may prefer to have this as it can make it easier to read.

easy to use, need flashlight to read unit (or good lighting). no readout unplugged
this unit is supposed to keep working unplugged, but mine has not...so gotta take readings while it's plugged in - and need to use flashlight on phone usually to see it. but otherwise has been useful to better understand electric usage in the house from all the major appliances and electronics - anything that plugs into an outlet. reset with each appliance, take a picture of the readout after a day or two, record the results in a spreadsheet and add em up...got pretty close to my actual avg daily usage per meter readings.

How to clear collected data without a full reset
If you need to clear the measurement data or measure different household appliances, you can pressand hold the DOWN button for 5 seconds until the display flashes, and then press the MODE buttonto clear the measurement data only and keep the measurement settings.I so wish this had been in the instructions. The monitor is great but consider printing out and saving the Amazon product listing as these are better than the limited instructions.

Operates standalone and handles low wattage / power factor appliances well
The media could not be loaded. This energy meter plug operates stand-alone and straight forward to use. It does not depend on any App or Internet connection, unlike smart plugs. It is narrower than many energy meters I’ve used, fitting next to regular UK plugs with most power strips. From going through the menus, it measures the accumulated kWh, running cost (single 24hr tariff only) and runtime in days, hours and minutes. The runtime LED lights up and accumulate the runtime whenever the appliance draws above 2 watts. It has several screens of readouts as shown in the video clip. These include watts/cost, kWh/runtime, estimated CO2, volts/Hz, amps/power factor, minimum watts and maximum watts. It reads all the way down to about 0.1W from my testing, which means it can measure standby power consumption, unlike some energy meters I’ve used that shows zero for anything drawing under 5 to 8 watts. Just 1 watt of standby power left plugged in 24/7 adds up to 8.76kWh annually. It also measures power factor well, such as power supplies, dimmers and LED lamps that have poor factor usage. There is no backlight, however, the screen has a much wider viewing angle than my other energy meters. It can also display the readings while unplugged, even when left unplugged for several days. There are a few user-settable alarm settings for overload, kWh and cost. These alarms don’t make any sound, but just cause the blue LED to blink continuously when an alarm is tripped. There are a few niggles, such as resetting the kWh will also wipe all the other readings, including the cost and alarm settings. There is no ability to reset the minimum and maximum wattage readings either without a full reset. It would also be nice if it could handle multiple tariffs, particularly for measuring appliances that run overnight.
