The faceplate is super easy to install. There is no wiring involved because it just snaps into place replacing the original hunter faceplate. There are videos online that show you how it is done. Using the app you program your zones and can give them meaningful names like “backyard”. When testing the system upon startup in the spring no more walking to the controller to turn on each zone to test it. Just do it from the app. Connect the controller to the internet and your personal sensors and it will monitor all local weather stations and your sensors to adjust the amount of water in a given watering. The app also gives reports on your water usage. If you have a contractor managing your irrigation system this unit allows them to remotely monitor your system and make any adjustments. I’ve had this system for a couple months now and love it - no issues to report. I think it is worth the investment.

I ordered this controller to replace the non wi-fi controller I had. I also like that this controller takes into account the weather and automatically adjusted the watering durations. There is no need for the old rain sensor. These also make it very easy to program through the cell phone app instead of on the actually controller.

I installed this wireless unit on an existing Hunter controller at my house. The upgrade was worth it. The cost is reasonable and the upgrade was seamless. It enables you to control your system from a cell phone and synchs with the weather forecast to prevent unnecessary watering. I would highly recommend it.

**Review of Irrigation Controller**I recently upgraded from my old manual irrigation controller, which I could never figure out how to program, to this new model from the same company, and I couldn’t be happier! Initially, I thought I would need to overhaul my whole system, but this new controller was designed as an easy swap, and they weren't kidding. The installation was a breeze—literally took me 15 seconds. All I had to do was unplug the wire from my old controller, undo a button, press another to release the hinge, and the new controller snapped right into place. After that, I just plugged the wire back in, and it was ready to go.Connecting the controller to my Wi-Fi was also super simple. That said, I do agree with some other reviews that the buttons are tiny, and I accidentally pressed the wrong ones a few times when entering my Wi-Fi password, but it’s a small issue in the grand scheme of things.The app that comes with this controller is fantastic and very user-friendly, with a high rating of 4.8 stars in the App Store. I was able to test all my zones, take pictures of them, and store those images in the app, which makes identifying each zone so much easier. Now I can just look at a picture and know exactly what area I’m dealing with.If you have an older irrigation system, especially a Hunter model, I highly recommend this controller. I can't believe I waited this long to make the switch—this controller has completely transformed how I manage my yard!

The panel took seconds to install. Super easy! One minor fault is that the panel seems a bit more loose in the hinges than the original, but I rarely open the panel so it’s fine.I connected it quickly to our wifi and installed the app on my phone. In just a few minutes I had it programmed and scheduled. I really like the intelligence of the app - it waters down more or less based on my local weather. It seems to work very well. And being able to see the water history by zone is great - it tells me if it watered more because it was hot or less because we had rain or it was cool. And it has an automatic setting for gardens different than established lawns.Totally worth it to easily bring my existing watering system online and controllable from my phone. Would definitely purchase again!
