JX5 Vengeful 1 3v Green Canvas Handle

I can’t say enough good things about this knife! The guy who gave it one star and said it has bad ergos and he slipped and cut his hand was likely stabbing with it (you’re not supposed to do that with this blade moron) which is like suing McDonald’s because you spilt hot coffee on yourself...I digress.In any case, if you’ve ever owned a Bark River you know these knives are absolutely amazing. Pictures cannot do them justice and the materials used will literally last your lifetime and your kids lifetime. So if you’re looking for a chopper that can be used like like a machete but can also be versatile enough to be carried as a one tool option in most cases as well then this it it. I was also considering the Tops El Chete but it basically has only one purpose (albeit it’s awesome and comes with a super sheath) and it’s in 1095 steel (which is still great but not a super steel like CPM 3V).Only knock I can give this is that I really don’t prefer the sheath it comes with and I will be replacing mine with a nice custom kydex sheath at some point...but it’s not all about the sheath because the sheath isn’t what you use to work with anyway.Just my 47 cents. I haven’t ever written a review but I felt so strongly about this product I felt inclined to do so.

I love this knife. It's extremely well balanced and ideal for woodworking. After Schrade ruined the Jessica X design, the closest to it in the inexpensive range is the Kershaw Camp 10, but it's not ideal because of the hilt and the conventional handle. Chris has offered to design a Jessica X-type knife for Kershaw or CRKT only asking that they manufacture it with his logo, but so far they haven't taken him up on it. The only downside of this knife is that it's very expensive, but well worth it if you can afford it.

Ok, I was sceptical ordering from my normal DLT Trading, but it was out of stock. It came just like all Bark River knives. Box and Sheath. The knife did not have the Prepared Mind 101 logo but I have found this is common. Most don't. The knife came fast within the same week of ordering. This knife is sharp and smooth to use. It can do small and big tasks well. I can use my fire steel on the spine. The 3V steel is my favorite steel. Great fast service and the right knife. This knife is everything I wanted. In this picture the JX5 its next to my other favorite the Bravo 2 from Bark River.

This thing is a crazy good chopper!!!!!! The handle is a little weird for me when I try to do "finer" stuff but that's no worry cuz that's what a mora is for!!! This this is made to process wood....and boy it does a fantastic job!!!!
