We took this backpack on a two week trip to Europe with our 2.5 yo. We were able to fit all of our sons clothes inside of a packing cube in the backpack for our 2 weeks. We also used the small vertical zippered pocket for a small pack of wipes. Along with the packing cube, we also packed an Ergo baby carrier (the structured ones), my DSLR camera, some diapers, a mini iPad, and candy. I was pleasantly surprised by how much fit. We then used the bag for our entire trip to haul our baby carrier around as we walked (we used the baby carrier so our son could nap and we could still explore), plus then we had somewhere safe to put our passports (in the pocket against our back). I loved that it was "water proof" in many of the pockets, and easy to wipe down. We didn't use the shoe bag, but it was nice to have it there, just in case. My son and I are flying on Frontier soon with just this backpack, so I'll update after that trip, but overall, I would 100% recommend this backpack, and we'll be buying my husband one for our next long-haul trip.

Works on both spirit (first photo) & frontier (all the other photos) airlines as a personal item!!!I packed for a 3 night cruise only using a personal item & a Fanny pack with no issue or added luggage fees. And I think this + a Fanny pack or size bag is ideal for any weekend / short trip.And I fit things like makeup, medicine, extra tote bags, an extra outfit, protein bars & a wig for a themed night in this puppy.Only thing is the shoe bag takes up precious space in the middle so it’s not the ideal to really fit a pair of shoes in here if you plan on using this as your only bag while tracking for a few days. I wish there was an option for the shoe bag to like hang out the bottom since some airlines have a little wiggle room when it comes to the length of this bag.If you are between the standard size and the slightly larger one… I would go with the standard one if you want a personal item that can be used on most airlines.The only thing is just make sure you have big pockets if you plan of using the two front pockets, since I had to empty mine most of the way to fit the bag size restrictions. It just try not to use the front pockets at all/sparingly. By front pockets I mean the vertical zipper on the top front of the backpack & the pouch on the bottom front of the backpack.As for comfort, it felt fine carrying this around. The little chest belt in the front actually can make a big difference in comfort as well!!When it comes to sturdiness, this bag was packed beyond the brim and help up. Seams appeared to be on the verge of popping but it held itself together gracefully. (This is bc I packed too many clothes lol).All the compartments were fabulous!! And the padding in the laptop sleeve is better then most cases so you can save space by just putting your laptop in there with out additional protection.It would be 6/5 stars if the bag had a water bottle sleeve on the side. But the bag is truly perfect for maximizing the space of your personal item.Overall it’s a must have for airline travel :)Disclaimer 1: I did have the straps and everything fit in flight on frontier, I just forgot to take the photo after I did that.Disclaimer 2: I have photos of it fitting both horizontally and vertically in the frontier flight under the seat. Tbh is recommend putting the bag vertically so you can slip your foot in for more leg room… but to each their ownDisclaimer 3: When I flew frontier (leaving the Miami airport) I was told at the self check in screen to speak to somebody since I did not purchase a bag… but I simply just used the digital boarding pass on my phone with out speaking to somebody & I had no issues with any personnel. So on frontier the people working had no issue or raised any questions using this bag as my personal item, however the system was trying to prompt me to buy a carry on item or check bag.P.S. for frequent sprit flyers the larger size of this bag may work since there is extra space in the length restrictions in that airline :)

Just like everyone else we’re all worried about the personal bag standards at the airport and if they will pass the “Personal Item” protocol. Well, it was the perfect size and it fits perfectly under our seats! I fit inside, a pair of platform converse, 5-6 shirts, 1 thick pair of jeans, a small makeup bag, a small toiletry bag, a straighter, contact solution bottle, socks and undies. I also even fit in women toiletries in the pockets. We flew Spirit and we had no problems with TSA or the check in. If you’re worried like how I was if this bag is going to fit under the seat don’t worry! We had more than enough room even if you decide to pack it a bit more! I hope this helps! <(^-^)>

I bought this for flights on Frontier and Spirit. The bag fits perfectly under the seat with Frontier. However, on my return flight with Spirit, it would not go under the seat. If you plan on using it with Spirit, I would suggest not using the front small pocket and do not overload the main pocket. I was able to remove my laptop and SHOVE it under, but it definitely was not ideal. The backpack was comfortable to wear, and the exterior seems easy to clean. I did feel like there was some wasted space by the extra padding in between the laptop and the main compartment, in my opinion, is not necessary since my clothes would act as the padding. I would have liked to see some kind of reinforcement on the sides, but once loaded, it keeps its form. If you take items out of it becomes flimsy. Not a deal breaker just a little annoying if you plan on keeping your clothes in it during the trip.

I purchased this so I would be able to fly and not have to pay for a carry-on. This backpack is the perfect size! It fits in the super small box airlines make you cram your bag into before you get on the plane and it fits under the seat with room to spare on the plane. My husband pulled on one of the side attachments too hard and ripped it a little bit but other than that, the material is pretty good quality. It surprisingly holds quite a bit of stuff.
