Works Great
I’ve used my Breville Smart Touch microwave for over 4 years and have become good at cooking, reheated, and thawing just about anything in it.With the addition of this pressure cooker, I plan to expand my cooking expertise to a new level. Within 20 minutes of opening the box, I washed the pot and cooked 3 lbs of purple sweet potatoes which I will use in later meals. They came out perfect. I am sure that this pressure cooker and I are going to be best of friends!

Top quality
I bought this because it was low enough to fit into my microwave oven, and because the reviews were good. I have cooked chicken thighs and drumsticks and they come out perfectly after 15 min in a 900w. microwave. I also tried a small pot roast. After 15 min. the roast was still tough so I removed the vegetables and put the roast in for another 15 min. Still tough. I finally gave it 10 min. in a stovetop pressure cooker and it was just right. To be honest, beef does not microwave well in any container. Country style pork ribs came out well after 20 min. This is my go-to cooker for a quick meal: from countertop to table in half an hour. I do not hesitate to give it five stars.

Too big for small microwave oven.
Does not fit the Mauve brand microwaves commonly installed on boats currently being built. Clampy bar over top of lid strikes right side of oven interior and stops rotating with turntable.

Need to find more recipes
Enjoying using this microwave pressure cooker, but need more recipes. Only a few came with the cooker. I'm not a very good cook, so having to invent recipes is an issue for me. Other then the lack of recipes, I do recommend this product for the speed of cooking plus very easy cleanup.

Worth the money!!
I could not believe that you cook pressure cook in the microwave. But sure enough I went from frozen to cooked in about 35 to 40 minutes. The only thing that I would say was sometimes it was hard to get the lid to close but with a little practice it becomes easier definitely worth the money I have purchased 2 of these. As a side note do not forget to put water in the bottom I forgot one time and it melted the entire pressure cooker

Overpriced
Its just another plastic mucrowave gadget nothing special or hugh tech. Maybe $40 would be a better price point. I think $65 is ridiculous. It works. I like it but not a $65 gadget.UPDATE: March 9, 2023Valve popped off nowhere to be found, item now useless as there is no where to buy a replacement. $65 piece of plastic.UPDATE: I emailed Kuhn Rikon. They never replied. Next thing I know I have three new valves in my mailbox.THANK YOU KUHN RIKON.

Not Designed For Use In High Wattage (over 900 watt) Microwaves - No Instructions on Use In Higher (USA) Wattage Units
Let me start with saying the primary reason for 3 Stars (= it is okay) has to do with a couple of issues. The box, and molded into the lid of this unit are the words, "MAX MICROWAVE POWER 900 WATTS". Most microwaves here in the USA are at least 1000 watts, and in the case of mine, 1,700 Watts. Nothing in the instructions tell you it is okay to use a higher wattage microwave. So, after getting the Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Microwavable Pressure Cooker, I didn't feel safe using it. If it is safe I expect the manufacturer to have instructions on how with our higher wattage microwaves.I ended up going to Kuhn Rikon's website and left a questions about if I could use it or not with my higher wattage microwave that is very typical here in the USA. I am happy to say that Jill replied within two days. She really didn't address my microwave power of 1,700 watts. This is what she said, "Thank you for your inquiry. Although the manual mentions 900W, we did test the recipes in the book here in the USA at 1100W without any issue."I wrote back and asked how I can use it with my microwave and this was the response, "Yes, you can safely run the power at 50% and will not damage the unit by doing so." My concern here, Jill who replied to my question shows her title is, Office Manager. No offence to Jill, but I would rather have heard from someone in engineering or product development in place of an Office Manager. So, I am sorry to say I haven't really tested this unit in my microwave. At minimum I worry about damaging the pressure cooker and worse could the unit hurt me or my family using it in my higher power microwave. At this point I'm not comfortable being their test person. The unit seems to be well constructed and it might work perfectly fine. I need something more than the word of an office manager from this company before I'll use it.

Does NOT make food cook faster than regular microwaving
I only wanted this Microwave Pressure Cooker for quickly cooking legumes as I would in my electric pressure cooker. Even if I've soaked the beans for a good 12-14 hours first this micro cooker does NOT get the beans cooked all the way. Very Disappointed!

Well, it’s a Kuhn Rikon!
From the company that invented pressure cookers... this is an amazing little gadget for the microwave. Rice in 12 minutes, curry in 22 min., pork chops (bone in) and cranberry gravy sauce in 20min. , etc... so, far everything comes out cooked to perfection and tenderness is great!

Operating Instructions and Recipe Booklet practically useless
This pot is sturdily constructed and fairly large (recipes are generally for 4 servings). It barely fits in my smallish microwave, but larger ones will usually have maximum power higher than 900 W, requiring care not to overheat the cooker. Although I am an experienced cook and have used stovetop pressure cookers, assembling it so that it developed pressure in use took several attempts and repeated re-examination of the closing mechanism. I would recommend starting by practicing closing and opening the empty pot until it is smooth and easy - make sure both sides are settled equally in place before turning the lid, and if it doesn't turn easily, back up to the starting position and re-seat it. Rubbing the gasket with a little cooking oil helps. Once it is closed, turn it over and make sure that the coloured gasket shows in a smooth line between each pair of locking flanges. When you can close it reliably, fill it to the minimum line with water and heat it for a few minutes at 900W to make sure it develops pressure (i.e. the pressure valve is up) and the valve takes 2 or 3 minutes to go down again. At this point it will be safe to cook something. Instead of a useful cooking guide describing how to approach various types of dishes, the maker provides 40 wildly varied recipes you may or may not be able to adapt to what you want to cook. My mother's 1940's instruction/recipe book for her stovetop pressure cooker was more useful, and after digging out timing for a vaguely similar recipe for this microwave version, I was able to cook a very satisfactory pot roast. This pot can be quite useful, but you have to be willing to adapt and experiment.

Hard to get proper Microwave setting
First, let me say that the product is well made except for the "steam bleeder"The first time I used the device I blew the bleeder out of the lid.The second time I set the Power level down two additional notches and it did not seal so I filled my microwave with steam.Third time lucky finally got the power setting rightThe 3 stars is because it is just a little small: maybe they should make two sizes one for a single person and one for a family. I would use it for much more if I could make a larger batch. It dose make perfect rice (again took 3 tries to get it perfect - works in 8 min)
