Modern research into the brain and gut connection is telling us that central dysregulation is a complex matter involving the entire anatomy, and we are individually affected various ways for various reasons. That's why this particular book is especially important. Dr Linnea doesn't try to make a cookie cutter one size fits all answer. I'm probably going to be working on getting myself stable until my last breath, but now I'm not alone in that process. Someone finally REALLY understands and cares about this form of suffering, and that in itself is a huge relief that I felt right away while reading the first couple chapters. If that makes sense to you then buy the book. The free resources and access to the latest research IS a treatment for Central Sensitization of all varieties. A comprehensive evidence-based guide to understanding and working with nervous system dysregulation.
Dr. Linnea's book, 'Heal Your Nervous System', is desperately needed on a global scale. I've eagerly awaited its release since the moment she announced her writing it. Today, it arrived and I'm thrilled! I have personally experienced working with Dr. Linnea's 5-Stage Plan and can attest to the transformative power that comes from fully embracing her method as outlined in this book. Once I learned about nervous system dysregulation it was clear to me how much it impacted every area of my life. It was the root cause of much, if not all, my discomfort (physical, emotional, mental, social, energetic, and spiritual). The more I understood, embraced, and accepted my own nervous system and learned how to regulate it, the happier, freer, and more productive I became. I firmly believe, as a witness to humanity's current level of chaos, division, violence, cruelty, malice, dis-ease, addictions, discord, and disharmony that at the very core of it all is millions of people engaging in the world with dysregulated nervous systems. Dr. Linnea's book is a salve that can help calm, soothe, and heal this societal wound by helping us recognize, acknowledge, accept, then dispel our limiting beliefs and behavior patterns that no longer serve us and embody not only a better way of living, but a better way of BEING. But we need to be willing to do the work. This level of personal growth isn't easy, but it's necessary, rewarding, and ultimately, life-altering. The Road to Nervous System Healing Made Accessible
In straight-forward, accessible language, Heal Your Nervous System dives into the myriad factors that can drive a dysregulated nervous system and offers a practical, comprehensive and staged process for holistic recovery. I greatly appreciate that this path doesn't falsely promise a "quick" fix, like so many pop-up nervous system healing programs do, and that Dr. Linnea acknowledges not just the psycho-emotional contributors to dysregulation, but also the equally as significant physiological and spiritual ones as well. The included assessments offer deeper insight, rather than just pigeon-holing symptoms into labeled identities. And I was impressed to read the noted distinction between nervous system sensitivity and nervous system dysregulation, the former of which can be honed and harnessed to be a superpower after all! I think the strength of HYNS's view of the nervous system is that no aspect is demonized, and there is more nuance and dimensionality to each nervous system state, which is expanded beyond the current norm. The emphasis here is on building awareness of self through curiosity and compassion, while taking ownership and responsibility for the factors that *can* be self-mitigated through safe embodiment, restored resilience and flexibility, cultivated connection and and finally, an expanded capacity for meeting life's challenges. The reader is not spoken to as a " broken" patient, narrowed down to the sum of their symptoms, who needs fixing to be made whole. Rather, one is recognized as a beautifully complex and dynamic person with all the promise and possibility that they've had in the past, currently do still have and will assuredly have even more of in the future,

Everything I was looking for made simple!
This isn't the first time I've been introduced to working on regulating the nervous system. I've had loads of success working with somatic, body-based practices when it comes to anxiety, auto-immune issues, and constant self-judgement. But this book brings it ALL together with so much compassion and a framework that, within the first few chapters, brought forth a wave of self-acceptance and a heavy exhale of relief. I finally realized I never had to be at war with myself. I just needed to learn how to meet my unique wiring with understanding and acceptance. It's comprehensive without being overwhelming. The reminders to go slow and take things one step at a time are greatly appreciated. It's counterintuitive, but it's really the only way this kind of work really settles into the body. This is the road map I've been looking for and I'm so, so glad to have it in my possession! I would highly recommend it for anyone who knows this work is for them, who often feels "on edge", and like it's all too much. This book gives not just solutions, but also a comprehensive overview of WHY those feelings are so persistent in the most clear and loving way. That mindset shift alone has been pure gold.

We can heal our embodied distress
I am so grateful for Dr. Linnea's research and leadership. Life has tossed a lot at me, and I hadn't understood how pulling myself up and just continuing had allowed a lot to build up in my body. It expresses itself as anxiety and nausea. Now, I have a couple of big challenges, and am following the practices in Heal your Nervous System. These practices and the science behind them are mapped out in steps, each building on the last. She's clear and offers science- and experience-backed hope and encouragement for dealing with the hard stuff. Steady, steady, one step at a time, with understanding, self-compassion, and gentle intention, I'm caring for myself, people I love, and doing the things that matter most. In listening to and reading Dr. Linnea, I believe this is exactly why she does this work. She knows personally of its importance and is able to contribute to the healing of our world through her work. May we all take what we know and contribute it to the world as she does. This is how, together, we'll help heal our planet, ourselves, and our relationships. With wishes for soothing and healing for all of us in this world.

Amazing book!! The author gets me!!
Love this book, I purchased this book after following Dr. Linnea on Instagram for a few months and she had already validated me so many times, helped me in many little ways. When the announcement for the book came, I knew I had to purchase and it hasn’t disappointed. There is soooo much information, I feel like it was written for me. Even though I haven’t finished reading the book, I have learned a lot. She covers a variety of topics: environment, coping methods, nutrition, sensory ,a nervous system assessment and so much more. After years of being told I’m too sensitive, that I should get over it and much more, Dr. Linnea gets me!!! With her help and therapy, I’m doing so much better! I’m definitely taking this book on the road with me when I start driving on the road again. It’s such a great feeling to know that I’m not alone when I often have felt isolated even when with friends and family.

Thoughtful, backed by science, well written and well organized
Absolutely worth it! This book is one of the best resources on nervous system regulation that I have found. It explains very clearly what nervous system dysregulation actually is and how it comes to be, which is such an essential step in learning how to become more regulated. This book is also backed by lots of scientific research and is founded on solid evidence. The author provides practical steps to resetting your nervous system so that you can have more capacity to manage all the stress that is part of our human experience. These steps are logical and not overwhelming which leads to feeling empowered to make lasting change. I highly recommend! The book itself is very high quality and quite beautiful. The pages are thick, the print is easy to read and it does not feel cluttered which makes the reading experience quite enjoyable.
