Not drop in. Love it.
Love it looks great, fits well works well. That being said do not buy if you are not comfortable grinding and sanding on firearms. I had to work on frame outside and inside and various places on safety. Took a couple hours but very happy with results.

Great Product
I added some pics to show how well this fits. Please note that this is not a drop in part. Smithing is required but the end result is better than a factory fit if done correctly. I spent more than 3 minutes on it but after blending and re-bluing the frame it looks and functions perfectly.You can't go wrong with Wilson Combat or Amazon.. A++++

Super easy.
This dropped right into my R1 with zero fitting or issues. Not sure about other experiences, but I was prepared to file and fit if need be. But perfect.

It will not work for a Rock Island GI Standard FS HC 45 ACP.
This was bought for a Rock Island GI Standard FS HC 45 ACP. It fit the frame cosmetically. But would not function reliably. It was put in by a gunsmith that works on 1911's and no amount of tweaking would get it to work. I am still looking for the proper one. Due to the time from purchase and getting it back from the gunsmith i now have a high quality paper weight. Lesson learned, do more research, get the proper part ad this is not the right one for the gun listed above. With this being said it is a quality part, just not for the gun I own.

Love it, better than the drop in models
Love it, better than the drop in models. Be mindful, you will have to remove metal on you 1911. It will not drop in and isn't meant to, looks great on a R1 Commander.

Great Beavertail Safety
Very happy with the finished product. The quality of this part is great and after several hours it fit my ATI 1911A1 beautifully and with great function. Seemed like the trigger bow block arm (the actual safety part) was shaped a little funny, but eventually I got it to work. Fitting is not a walk in the park, but just take your time and it's pretty hard to mess up.

Great Upgrade For An Old War Horse
If you have a government model frame of some vintage, and you want a beavertail grip safety, but you don't want to modify the frame, then this part is for you. Add a Wilson Valueline commander hammer and sear and you're good to go. If you ever want to go back to GI original, you can. It's always nice to have options.
