Gasket at tub overflow/lever had dried out and replacing it would require either removing the tub or going through the back wall. This solved the problem quickly and simply. Just be aware that the screws/bolts may not be compatible with your overflow/lever configuration (they were too large for mine). I had to use the ones that came with the original.

Could not make flip lever work properly--after spending hours trying I finally compared this to my old rusty one--Upon putting my old one back in it worked perfectly--I discovered this new one had too long of a flip.arm--was going to return it but discovered I could use a hacksaw to cut the arm shorter to match my old one--the just have to drill a new hole to hold cotter key--this item is expensive considering the work I had to do to make it work--will be pretty when I'm done.

Gaskets weren’t fitting tight enough so when I saw this I was so happy. Works just exactly the way I need. It’s on the outside on the tub then connects to the overflow drain. It needs to be pretty close but I was so happy this fixed my problem.

Drain lever was a little long so I just swapped levers with my old cover. But could have shortened and drilled a new hole in the end if needed.. minor issues considering the labor saving it gave me..

Because the silicone gasket sits on the inside of the tub, it will likely fill in the space allowed within the old cover plate that sits over your overflow drain. The new cover plate has tabs on the inside top and bottom (and is correspondingly thicker or deeper) to hold the gasket tight against the tub and to allow water flow through the bottom of the cover plate over the gasket and into the drain. You can see the blue of the gasket, but it does not extend outside the edges of the cover. If you don't want the trip lever, this seller also offers a plain cover plate with the silicon gasket.

Years ago when my bathtub was installed, the installer didn't put a gasket in the overflow drain. The drain also didn't sit tightly against the tub. As you can imagine, there was very very slow leak that I didn't notice until I really noticed it! This gasket is perfect for my tub. I was able to slip a smaller gasket between the drain and the tub and then use this to make sure water gets diverted into the drain.My only complaint is the price. I only needed the gasket and I couldn't find it without ordering the whole kit. I could find the center hole ones, but not the two hole like I needed. At $5-10, I would have been extremely happy. At $20, I'm still pretty happy that I know the leak is fixed and I'm probably never going to have to worry about it again!

This product functioned as desired. My old gasket on the tub was dry rotted and not easily accessible to replace. This product fixed the issue with very little effort.

This worked well to stop the leak from the old worn out ring on my overflow. Kind of a tight fit to get it in. But used my old faceplate as this one felt a little cheap.
