A tool for professionals that I get to use too.
Of the hundreds of pruning shears available on Amazon, this one is my choice for keeps. And I have owned a few.Yes, it is different. It looks and feel strange on first use. I think it is wrong to judge it based on what I am used to using. Subtle features should make real differences over extended use. As seen on photo, it requires less of a wrist-bend downwards in use. What is not obvious is that it points to the left also (for right handed use - left hand version available), thus requires less of a wrist-bend leftwards in use. Rotating lower handle follows finger curl as hand closes during cuts. That should reduce possibility of blistering from rubbing. Rubber cushioning is provide to reduce mechanical shock on closure. All this should result in less hand fatigue. When you hold it out with your wrist relaxed, You will find the cutting head points almost exactly straight out - in line with your arm. All of the "funny bends and curves" built-it make perfect sense - It was designed with the human hand in mind (i e, ergonomic).Yes, it is expensive. It is obviously well made. It can be customized with parts available. Three different sized cutting heads are available if you so choose, as are three different handle sizes. The hinge is finely adjustable with inevitable wear over time. Positive locking prevents hinge adjustment from inadvertent changes. Safety lock of shear in closed position has very positive click, and handle squeeze is required. Inadvertent opening should be very unlikely. General construction design and materials are of very high quality. This is one fine tool that should last awhile.I think (hope?) I will not have the need to buy another pair of pruning shears again.

The best
I use these to prune many acres of wine grapes. I’ve used many different brands and styles of hand pruners, and these are far and away the best I have found. The design cuts through tough wood like a fillet knife through a tender steak. You can’t go wrong with these. I’ve seen some negative reviews, and I feel that those people must not have any arm strength at all, or they left them outside to rust before reviewing. Look no further for your ultimate manual hand pruning shears. There are different sizes available, buy accordingly.

Unusually easy on hands
This is a wonderful prunner. The rolling action of the handle is super for any hand but especially for arthitic fingers. It is very sharp and cuts smoothly and easily, green or dead wood, with no leftover tags. Well worth the money. I recommend it to anyone. Nothing i dont like.

Well built, but large grip
Work great. I have large hands (wear XL gloves often) and I found the grip to be only slightly smaller than my felco rotating handle...I think I would go with small grip next time for comfort.

Truly Amazing Pruners
These are amazing. They have been used since purchase, if they are taken care oiled sharpened and not let to rust they will last forever. They might be pricey but they are truly amazing. They are ergonomic and bottom handle adjusts which is different than many other brands.

Five Stars
Cuts fine, the locking mechanism kinda sucks. Requires two hands to disengage. Will update when pruning time comes...
