Effective moisture absorber with handy colour indicator
I use these silica gel to help keep moisture away from my protein powders, as well as in my book cupboard and wardrobe. They seem to be working really well — I’ve already recharged them once, so they must be doing their job. The colour change indicator is a useful feature to show when the beads need recharging. Good value for the quantity provided.

What can you say about desiccant..It does what It was supposed to, I had expected the container to be larger by the image, but still the product seems to do its job well, my filament is drying out nicely.

Used to repair a blown double glazing panel m
Used these to trial a repair to a blown double glazed window unit. Drilled a hole in the corner and poured some in, then resealed the unit. If it works it would be a cheaper than replacing the unit.

Great way to control humidity
Just what I needed for storing 3d printing filament below 25% humidity.

Colour changing not working.
I have a moisture meter around where I use these. At first the moisture level dropped proving that they work, however the meter quickly showed it going back to normal with the beads NOT changing colour. Good job I have a meter becaise these don't tell you with their colour like they should.

DO NOT USE THIS AT HOME!
DONT BUY THIS! This contains toxic chemicals that are just unsafe, I might be over exaggerating, but there are safer options that do the same thing. I was looking for dessicant for my 3D Printer filament, my home is always so humid, so I thought I would protect my filament while in storage, I found a youtube video recommending this with some cereal boxes, humidity sensors and a model you can print to house these things... which is all well and great.. but when I done my homework I found these blue colour changing dessicant has a highly toxic chemical in them cobalt chloride which is classified as toxic and carcinogenic. No thank you! I found that you can buy an alternative that has yellow to green changing colour that does not contain this chemical, so I chose that instead, and I recommend you do the same. Here is the one I use instead: "2LB Fonday Premium Moisture Indicating Silica Gel Desiccant Orange to Green Rechargeable Industry Standard Bead Size 3 to 5mm" It should be "safer" for home use, but please do use with caution.

Works well as a desiccant for 3D printing filament. I use these beads in an active filament dehydrator with heater, and in a passive sealed bin. With these beads, I very rarely need to power on the dehydrator, which reports humidity around 20% for extended periods of time (months).

Perfect for every use

The blue desiccant silica gel beads work well to keep things dry. The very distinct color change is very helpful in determining when to re-dry the beads. I mainly use the blue desiccant in my AMS, and I've found I can go a long time before having to dry the beads. The bead size is perfect, with very few small particles that may slip through the desiccant screens or bags. I have completed three dry cycles on this batch already, and the beads are holding up nicely, so durability is not a concern. The bottle makes pouring easy, but I found that pairing it with a 3D-printed screw in a funnel improves the experience and minimizes spillage. There are concerns about the chemical used in the blue desiccant indicating silica gel beads, but I don't handle them often, and the particle size is large enough and heavy enough to not be an airborne concern.

I purchased two containers of blue indicating silica gel to support my 3D printing setup, and they've proven to be highly effective. I use them within the Bambu AMS unit to maintain optimal humidity levels for my filaments, as well as inside custom-printed containers placed directly in open filament spools. The beads consistently help keep humidity low, as confirmed by hygrometer readings. One of the standout features is the color-change indicator, which clearly signals when the beads are saturated. Recharging them is simple—just a quick cycle in the microwave—and they’re ready to use again. The reusability and ease of maintenance make this product a practical and reliable solution for filament storage. Highly recommended for anyone looking to protect their materials from moisture.
